Yet another strange bird, inspired by Jeff VanderMeer's story (refer to Strange Bird 01). While not directly tied to the narrative, it joins the array of eccentric birds I sketched in response to his book.
I just stumbled across your art and thought it was amazing!! I wanted to ask if you'd be willing to contribute any of your drawings to the third issue of the Nexian? With credit to you ofc.
Your inspiration for this is so cool, because one of the articles I suggested in my outline of The Nexian was an interview with Jeff Vandermeer. I don't think I'll be able to make it happen for this issue, but I thought it was a funny coincidence. I'm glad to know there are other fans of his here.
Absolutely! Just let me know which art you'd like to include.
I was thrilled when Jeff commented on my Facebook post about Strange Bird 01—he's such a great guy. The Strange Bird is one of the most poignant books I've read.

He's been my favorite author for about a year, but I still haven't gotten to The Strange Bird! I've read Borne and Dead Astronauts in the series, but for whatever reason have been putting The Strange Bird off for a while now. I'll try to get to it soon. And it's so cool that he commented on it, he's such a genuine guy.
Again, thanks so much for letting us use your art. I'll reply again in a few weeks about specific drawings, and any suggestions or feedback about how you might want them used.
I'll let you know in a few weeks which pieces I'd like to include - once we've got enough content for me to assess the layout of the magazine.

I would say Borne is his best, and The Strange Bird is a great—though tear-jerkingly sad—side story.
All of my sketches have been adjusted to have a blank white background (#FFFFFF), so they should be really easy to insert. Also, I'm glad you want to include them! I will be uploading paintings soon
