I certainly am not confusing the words.....

Community = a group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger society.

Society = a community, nation, or broad grouping of people having common traditions, institutions, and collective activities and interests.

A city is a society and a community, everyones collective activity is to make money. I was apologizing for the fact that i might not have been clear enough.....
