There could be several reasons for the larger crystals. My seeds were well spent by the time I did the acetone experiment. I had experimented with the 50g of seeds I had in every way possible. Multiple defats with different solvents etc. Likely the lower yield on the spent seeds likely cause the slower crystallisation. I left it for weeks before I checked it.
