Hmm I just feel like an idiot now, less then 500 mg's (HCl) from 150 grams of torch. I did everything right 🤷 Here's the tek that I used, the only thing I changed really was that I air evaporated instead of using a food dehydrator. My final water pulls were completely clear, so I know I got everything. Just a note: I couldn't get it pure white, it's like a yellowish tan, more on the tan side. I also feel like a dork because I trashed the acetone/isopropyl, thinking it was garbage, then read that I should save it immediately after!
 
Bummer on trashing the IPA, oh well, sometimes you gotta learn that way :(

Well, you still have your cactus mixture right? You could try pulling more on it to see if its exausted.

Probably wasn't your fault, probably just not the highest quality cactus. Was it chips? Powder? whered you get it?
 
Yeah I guess it's a good way to learn :)

It was chips I ordered from some guy in Peru.

I've done the same extraction before but got the acetate instead of HCl, and a 300mg dose gave me a very very speedy trip, made my jaw hurt like hell, so I wanted something a little purer this time. I trashed the cactus simply because the final pulls were all clear so I was pretty confident I got everything I wanted out of it. My only real question (besides why'd I get such a little amount) is how come I can't get it pure white, or at least off white? I did 2 acetone washes and 2 alcohol washes.
 
I assuming you're referring to ron's technique w/ d-limonene, lime, and a French press? Ron's tek is great but does not give great yields and, IMO, is best for beginners to get a handle on how extractions work. Next time try doing STB with NaOH (using ~0.8 to 1 g NaOH per g of cactus).

Cold anahydrous IPA washes? Hmm strange, im not sure then..... Maybe do another round i guess...

Is this as effective with d-limonene as it is with xylene would you say? Does the cactus become a ball of goop though, or does the basification completely break it apart into a uniform aqueous solution? Thanks for the advice man.
