Well i wouldn't say that im the most qualified person to comment on this, but as far as im aware, both of the things you mentioned are MAOIs, and so the best you can hope to achieve from makin a brew of these products is a dreamy leathargy. I may be wrong about this though.

I think to best utilise these products, the best thing to do would be get some kind of plant material that contained DMT (MHRB, Chacruna, Chaliponga etc), and brew it with that. This was the brew would then be more like ayahuasca, and id imagine, alot more of a "enlightening experience" than just rue and caapi.
