Orange can be good, mine usually looks the color of pee.... I feel like clear naphtha does not have any active alkaloids but I may be wrong.

My naphtha usually looks clear once it has crashed out all the white crystals. But regularly the pee colored naphtha yields a lot of solid spice that doesnt lose much weight after cleaning and recrystalizing.

From my experience the yellow is usually plant oils/tannins too much dark yellow/orange is bad news in my experiences.

ok, so SWIM had massively orange/red/brown naphtha which swim knew was bad news. But unwilling to throw it out (duh) SWIM put it in the freezer, and impatient as she is, kept peeking in. After about 20 minutes the naphtha had kind of cleared up a bit - it was cloudy and brown after about 10 min - and a sediment had settled. SWIM took the naphtha out and poured it through a filter into a new jar. This had to be done fast, otherwise the sediment started going back into the solvent. SWIM actually had to refreeze it for a few minutes in between because the filter in the funnel was taking so long to pass the solvent.
Then the slightly discolored naphtha went back into the freezer while the sediment was left to dry. The process was done one more time with the freezing naphtha to clean it up until it was kind of yellowish, which swim decided was a good color and would let fp.
The dried goo then underwent a washing with IPA which should, I think, collect whatever free base might be in it, but not solve the icky gooey stuff. The IPA is still evapping from the different jars and the slightly yellow naphtha yielded a bunch of faintly yellow crystals and some snow white ones. If SWIM reXs they will probably be white all the way, but who knows, maybe they're fine the way they are now. SWIM has tried to separate the white from the darker ones and is reXing the non-pure ones.
I can't say anything about yield, because after pull 3 SWIMs glass broke: the bottom just came off. So my guess is this was due to the caustic soda weakening the glass, or it could have been pressure built up from the naphtha evapping inside. In any case it was not very funny for SWIM to clean up the mess of lye+jurema tar- next time SWIM will go for PP or HDPE containers (the ones that are supposed to withstand NaOH) - and none of it could be saved. Perhaps, SWIM's intentions are not in agreement with the cosmos
or she is just being a dumbass for mixing it in glass in the first place.
In any case I thought this may be interesting for those of you who are having trouble with red naphtha as this seems to be an easy way to clean it up pretty well and probably not loose too much product.

I had brown naphtha once, but I just threw it out because it looked really un natural and was on my last pull so I figured I might as well throw it out. I was using an STB when this all happened, still have not tried A/B but sometimes the yellow/orange naphtha contains DMT N-oxide, my first extract ever had a first pull that yielded a ton of it but it was probably due to the fact that its was 100+ degrees in my house while doing this.

The brown naphtha happens when you use pre-powdered and STB...honestly it happens to me almost every single time when i do STB with pre-powdered
I matter of fact have several jars with brown naphtha,...and its so dark i cant even see the seperation...If it is seperated clear enough to pull though,...what i do is pull and do a sodium carbonate water wash on it to clear it up a bit then freeze..
But i have no seperatory funnel so its hard/i lose alot of naphtha when i do the water wash...And it also wastes alot of jungle spice...but is the only way to get good DMT

If it got as brown as mine...it wouldn't have went as good...but since yours was just yellow...thats normal.
Just be careful, from what I've read, even snow white DMT can contain impurities.
I always have perfectly clear naphtha using pre-powdered bark. Personally I think it depends on the naphtha. Many people have said that Ronsonol Lighter Fluid stays clear and makes the spice white / yellow.

why jungle? you're using naphtha, so there shouldnt be any 'jungle' pulled. If you're calling in jungle just because of color, did you consider how colors can mean a lot of things? You cannot say that such color=such alkaloid, or even that such color = any alkaloid, it can be a lot of inactive impurities.

I have noticed that, in general, more base AND stronger base = more color in the pulls..infund told me this once as well concerning pulling with xylene after basing with sodium carb vs lye..lye pulls alot more color.
I have noticed that even if I simply use much more sodium carb than I usually do to base, or if I heat it up a bit while I base it, or heat the solvent, all these will pull more color, and more actives.

My bad...i figured since how brown my naphtha was that it had to be jungle...i guess its just tannins and bark color/particles?
My bad for any confusions i started with saying that i lose jungle spice out of naphtha...sorry
Then what exactly is the brown coloring? It pisses me off because i go to freeze it and it yields a bunch of yellow/brown fats/oils...And i must clean it good with sodium carbonate water before i freeze, making the sodium carb water brownish and the naphtha more yellow
And when im discarding the brown sodium carb water,...it smells like dmt and i feel im wasting something active...which made me call it jungle

Good to hear that everything turned out great for you Ash. So you think that pee colored is better than clear? Do you think its better quality or better quantity? or both? IME The pee colored naphtha means I've struck gold on yield.
