Do you think that it is possible for one to open his or her third eye permanently through dozens or hundreds of DMT sessions alone, or would one have to stick to the mediation route?

Maybe some could skip the years of meditation practice?

I just wonder because so many profess methods of opening or awakening the third eye by tones and vibrations, often through years or a lifetime of practice like some Buddhist monks, but I often think, "Why not just do some D and get straight to the point" ;)

Have many monks or the like wasted so much of their lives to getting to the point that 1 or 2 hits of DMT could take them? Hmmmmm....

If we could give many Gurus and lifelong monks a couple of hits we could really give them what they were looking for in an instant?

Haha, thanks!

How would you go about determining if you had opened your 3rd eye? This is untestable, and so you won't get a straight answer.

If instead you mean the heightened sense of awareness/openness/compassion that people associate with achieving a higher level of consciousness, then there are more defined answers. I personally think that yes, you can definitely improve yourself via DMT and meditation, they are different routes to the same goal (enlightenment).

However, I don't think that either one would cause a permanent change. It is up to the individual to 'do their homework' and integrate the experiences that they have. In my experience (over 100 trips), I have had profound positive effects from DMT, but these effects are short lived unless you make the effort to change the way you conduct yourself while sober. Even then, I find myself slipping from time to time and feel the need to 'go back to school' and learn more from DMT.

DMT is no silver bullet, it is merely a tool for personal growth, like meditation.

You gotta admit, being able to achieve heightened states of consciousness without needing an external means would be freaking awesome. But when I first started using dmt i often found myself wondering the exact same thing. "Look at all these monks/gurus wasting their time producing dmt naturally when its so easy to extract and smoke. " lol

Ive BT about 50+ times now over the past 2 years and while my 3rd eye is definitely not opened permanently, i have been noticing that as I further my meditation practices its now taking much much less to BT. 30 minutes of solid unbroken meditation followed by abt 20mg of dmt in a pitch black room has been giving me the best most consistent results.

But yea i think you get what you put into it. Imo dmt is like a spiritual crutch and prob isnt meant to be used forever.

just my .2 hope it helped !

You have to eat certain precursers from the environment to be able to produce any DMT endogenously..so trying to do anything without external means is an exercise in futility. This is a side effect of residing within a deep ecological system of which you are part of.

You can get into heightened states without directly ingesting psychedelic neurochemicals though. Anyone can.

If the matter is ambiguous "opening your third eye", you're probably only going to get an awkward temporary tolerance and a nasty 1000-yard stare for a couple years.

Learning what you really want makes the question pointless. Facing the challenge of getting it makes the DMT pointless. Paying attention and doing the work makes everything clear.

There are no shortcuts.

Happy Trails.

perhaps i don't know , my third eye is not open and i really even don't know much of what that means

i have been meditating to stay present and subdue metal chatter , thats what i have gotten out of meditation till now ( and my spirtuality is basicly enjoying the moment and having fun )

also meditating on dmt , especially the paying attention to breath technique makes the experience quite different than without meditating as far as the mental effects are concerned allowing me to concentrate of the visual aspects and be free from much mental chatter that takes place , yet i have no idea what does an open third eye mean

meditation does make it more enjoyble yet the third eye thing is still out of my grasp ,
