5-MeO-DMT fumarate in BAC water - color change in vial

About 6 months ago, I mixed a glass vial of 100mg/ml concentration 5-MeO-DMT fumarate in bacteriostatic water. It's been stored in a cool dry place using an airtight container with a desiccant. The vial itself is airtight as well.

I've noticed that the color of the solution changed from a light tan to a dark red. I've read that DMT is polymorphic, which as I understand it means it can change color/form without affecting it in a practical sense for psychedelic use. Is that likely what I'm seeing with this vial? Considering the ROA being used here, I'm hoping for some thoughts and opinions on whether it changed into something dangerous or undesirable.

Which ROA are you planning for? I also noticed a color change in salt solutions of 5meo, and while I cannot say exactly what's going on there, I haven't experienced a lost in potency. So if you are planning to take it intranasally or sublingually, there's nothing to worry about. But I wouldn't go for an IV route...

Intramuscular, but technically it could be used for IV as well. I haven't had the courage or found the need to try IV.

That's good to hear you haven't noticed a loss in potency. I'm guessing the subjective effects were consistent with what you were expecting too?

Well, intranasal and sublingual both require larger doses. I snorted about 15mg of benzoate salt, the onset was slower, started within 30 seconds and took about 2-3 minutes to build up and lasted about 20 minutes. It didn't completely blow me away, but that may also have been because I was actively resisting it... I wanted to play my instrument and I just kept playing it and somehow my fingers still knew what to do... the sublingual dose was much smaller, probably around 5mg of the salt, so around 3mg of freebase. It took about 5 minutes to start, minimal effects, the usual 5meo heart beat, change in breathing etc. But I just wanted to test the waters and that I did. Snorting is a good way if you want to mellow out the onset, and you can play around with the dosing more easily without worrying about long tokes and lung capacity, holding your breath while your heart is pounding etc. If I vaporize it, I have to leave a good amount of space in my lungs so I can breath in some more air if the heart beat is too fast and I have difficulties holding my breath.
