a few noob question..

My neighbor is doing an STB extraction on some pink bark. Its her first one and she would like advice. She was thinking of doing lazymans tek with freeze precip for the first 2 pulls and evap for the last pull. She has a few noobish question though.

Can the metal lid from a standard mason jar react with the lye? Can a regular plastic syringe be used to separate the naphta layer from the alkaline solution? How long is too long for bark to sit in the bastified solution? She was thinking 1 day per pull.

im not sure about the jar lids as I don't use them.

You shouldn't use a plastic syringe, get a nice glass one.

Your first few pulls don't really need very long, you can do a long last pull if you like to make sure you have all the goodies.

sea salt is fine.

a bit of searching would have found you the answers to these questions.

Thank you! She can't get glass syringes in our area and ordering them online is sketchy..

I was obsessed with this site 2 years ago and i read everything i could get my hands on. Everything has changed so much since then it's almost daunting. Thanks for your patience, ill be sure to ask her for pics
