A frustrated hello!

Hello everyone!

I've been reading and studying all I can on this forum for some time now. You have all been a major influence and help along this path I've taken. I sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Over the past 6 months, I've been having nothing but success using cybs Max ion tec with Acacia Confusa. Starting from my very first attempt, I've been pulling on average a 1% yeald of beautiful snow white crystals. They have shown me more than I ever thought possible!

Lately however, things aren't working so well. As always, I follow the tec to the T. I have changed nothing in my procedure. Everything seems to go smoothly until the very last step.
When I pull my dish from the freezer, and pour the solvent off, the yield looks beautiful. However, after placing it under a fan for a little while all the crystals seem to melt into a clear liquid, then just disappears. Sometimes I'm able to scrap up a small amount of yellowish goo, but more often than not, there's nothing to scrape.

I've considered the fact that condensation may be forming due to the temp change, but even if I don't freeze, and just let the solvent evaporate, the same thing keeps happening. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. Like I said, I've changed nothing, and went from a 100% success rate, to 0%.

Very frustrating. This may be the wrong place to ask, but I'm desperate. Any one have any ideas?

As always, check the FAQ :) FAQ - DMT Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting Guide - DMT-Nexus Wiki

Hope that helps!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Sadly, I've been over that a few times, and tried only to have the same failure :(

My last attempt was slightly more successful, but I only ended up with an ear wax looking chunk of yellow dmt Smelling stuff. Haven't tested it yet, and I'm afraid of attempting a re x... Don't want it to melt away like everything else. Lol

nothing wrong with a goo or yellow stuff, just infuse some herbs and vap that. It will be just as active. It usually seems like there's way less because goo is deceptively heavy

Right on. I'm. Going to give it a shot for sure. I saved some of the chunks, and tried re xing some as well. We'll see how it goes.

It's just frustrating. Im not against the goo or anything... In fact, I'd be stoked to even get goo these days. Lately it's been almost nothing. I just have no idea what's changed that could be causing this.

Quickly pour off solvent and then place trays back into freezer upside down with the lid on. Leave them there to dry for a few hours. Then move them from freezer to fridge still upside down (drain run off solvent and replace lid) and let dry for a few more hours. Then take them out and lightly scrape off the top layer of what should be white to yellowish crystals. One you have that top layer, dig in to get the rest of the gooey stuff underneath.

You want to make sure to keep out condensation and very slowly reduce the temperature on the trays. This should fix those issues you described!

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have time right now for another extraction, as I work a camp job, and am leaving soon, but when I get home next week, I'll give it a go.

I've read this advice before, and sort of tried it. I drained off the solvent, and put the tray back in the freeze upside down for an hour or so, but I like to evap outside (or at least in a sealed off room with the door and Windows open.) And since it was -2 outside at the time, I skipped the fridge figuring that it was cold enough outside to not melt my crystals.

That made me think... Back when I was successful, it was the middle of summer. I took the trays directly from the freezer, poured off the solvent, and put them under the fan right away. Maybe it was so hot outside that it helped evaporate the solvent faster than it could melt the crystals? ... I dunno.. I'm confused. Thankfully, I find the work and process involved in extracting just as rewarding as the trip, so I'm not to disappointed about my failures :)

There is always the possibility that it is bunk bark. However, if you have been extracting from the same batch of bark since your first extraction you can disregard this. Just a thought.

Hey man, thanks for the suggestion. I've considered it myself, and haven't quite ruled that out yet. It's not the same batch, but I REMOVED. However, I swear I can see some in there before it all melts away.
