REPORT

Last night, I was smoking my 1:1 changa made with 11x caapi leaves. During the travel, all went well, had a few subtle and not so subtle breakthroughs. The first was me in a place of pure calmness and bliss. Then my room was not my room anymore, but something completely different. The last breakthrough is just impossible to describe, except that there was a lot of purple and I kept thinking 'everything is in everything'. Not sure what to make of that.

Now, I have a tendency to really push experiences, especially with changa. As soon as I toke, my brain tells me to toke more since I'm not yet 'far enough'. I would keep flaming the herbs, trying get more out of it. I know this is a bad thing and not something 'Aya' likes. At one point, I loaded up some more changa in the pipe, but realized half way through I was being greedy and wanted to put some of the herb back in its container. You know what this influenced smart-ass does? He just dumps the contents of his pipe in the original container. Luckily, not too many ashes came with it, so the changa is still smokable. I felt like such a dumb ass.

At one point, the herb will just tell you 'stop, enough, you're not getting more'. I, greedily, tried anyway. I torched the dedicated pipe, made out of a small section of dried corncob and a hollow blackwalnut branch as stem. The head of the pipe lit up. I was inhaling increasingly harsh smoke and decided to call it quits. I've had what I came for, and I really should not be pushing Aya for more.

I put away the pipe and notice I'm sweating profusely. My stomach is completely empty, but demands me to go to the bathroom. I puke, or try to, but nothing comes out for a while. I'm shaking, shivering. Still heaving. I go back to bed, but each breath I take hurts badly and makes me more nauseas, ordering me to puke more. I'm hot, I'm cold. One moment I'm wearing thermal underwear and a fleece bath robe in bed and the next I'm standing next to my bed, naked and sweating. My muscles ache, badly, especially my back, thighs and everything that's in my belly.

I wake up this morning, still sweating, still sick. I ate a small bite so I can at least vomit something if need be, but it stayed in alright. I couldn't get warm, so I took the hottest bath I could bare and fell asleep. Now, my lungs are still tight and breathing kind of hurts, but nowhere near the proportions of last evening.

What happened? Can anyone tell? I see it as a bit of a 'punishment' for trying to push it too far. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, right? But from a pharmacological standpoint, what went wrong? Too much harmala's? Too much smoke? God forbid, too much DMT?

I did learn something from this trip though, even if it wasn't a gentle lesson: don't be so greedy, calm down. It'll come. And if it doesn't, so be it. No use torching the everliving love out of it. That'll just get you in a very bad spot.

I have had similar experiences from what I believe to be too much MAOI intake via changa. You may want to research that and compare your symptoms.

There is also the possibility that you were about to be ill regardless, could be flu or dehydration symptoms.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

It does sound a little like you were too heavy handed with the harmalas.

You said 1:1 changa. Did you mean you used 1g harmalas to 1g dmt or was it 1:1 herb/dmt with the 11x caapi as herb?

Sensitivity to harmalas can vary alot from person to person but 1:1 ratio of harmalas/dmt on 1g herb would most deffinately be enough to cause flu like symptoms in some.

Harmalas do not like dissolving in most solvents. 190proof grain alcohol works well I hear & methanol as well but methanol is dangerous if one is not careful & grain alcohol is hard to get in some places.

My point with the solvent thing is, it seems much better & much less prone to flu-like symptoms to make a sandwich with some herbs & a dose of harmalas then smoke that before the DMT. You have much more precise control over how much harmalas you are smoking & can stop if it starts to feel like too much.

..it may as well be due to the antibiotics (it's not a little thing). Tetracycline is heavy stuff.

When intezam had a dental abcess this summer they gave us clindamycin, a bone penetrating antibiotic and it stopped the infection alright, but it made our tummy really sick, and even now we are still not the same.....:|

Although we supplemented with probiotic cultures, these are not like the ones we collected during our travels. Since then we expierenced inability to digest chilies and we now enjoy urticaria in cold weather and under stress...... 😁 (perhaps due to lactobacillus casei that came with the supplement)

Who knows if those intestinal bacteria are not (some of) the source/spirits of these entities we meet???? After all we just seem to be the captain of this planetary cruising unit....and if we compare us to a tree, the intestines would be our (portable) root system (the actual tree)

Sinysterkid: Yeah, I'm feeling better now, thanks. :) The throat still hurts a bit, but not as bad as a few days ago. It seems like a bit too much of a coincidence that I'd get sick right after smoking changa, but it's possible, of course.

Concombres: To clarify, the changa is made with 1 gram of DMT on 1 gram of 11x caapi leaves. I made the 11x caapi by using 96% ethanol. You're right though, not sure if I'll make changa again. I feel using freebase in a machine is actually easier than smoking changa. If I want the added rima's, I'll smoke the 11x caapi before and then use freebase from a machine.

Intezam: Could be that my constitution was weakened from the antibiotics, yeah. I researched it for a bit, and found no interactions between DMT and antibiotics or MAOI's and antibiotics. It could be that my system was weakened from the antibiotics (which had me feeling tired, too) and the slight overdose of harmala's did me in.

Thanks for the responses, all. :)

I've had similar experiences, but in my case I don't think its the changa or spice. I found that if I am run down whilst working I can hold back the illness (i.e. really busy no time to be ill). Also I have a bad back which generally causes me little issue.

After a trip these things seem to get accentuated, and the day afterwards I will really feel where my back hurts, and if I have a latent cold it will come to the surface with full force. It feels either like I can't fool myself about how I am feeling, or that those issues are being brought to bear so that I sort them out...

Same effect when I have a holiday, you relax and let go - then the cold you have been holding back all this time really digs in.
