Acetic Salt: Vaporizing with a microwave

Migrated topic.

it seems to work, im not sure if yield loss is known. a test was done on 30 ml of acetic saltings from dlimo and yielded dark red goo that when vaporized smell strongly of dmt. it took roughly 90 seconds to evaporate the vinegar, once the boiling subsided the microwaved was opened, a massive waft of acetic vapor stung my nose and eyes and there was no smell of dmt, still a faint smell of vinegar on the product.

does anyone forsee a problem with larger evaporations like this?

about to try 100 ml and see the result...

I'm confused. Are you worried about vaporizing aka smoalking goo? (which if you are doing, please save your lungs and continue the extraction to completion!) Or the smell of vinegar after opening the microwave? If you have proper ventilation in your working area, there shouldn't be any significant problems with the smell of vinegar coming from your product, it's probably just the excess acetic acid evaporating off.

(I don't know whether or not using the microwave is allowed in extractions though. I'd be fearful of destroying the DMT via accidental overheating.)

Neat!
So, as long as your spice is in salt form and you don't get it to hot then this should be a sound method of speeding up evaporations. For times when you're not recrystalizing and don't care about crystal size and really just need your product dry to continue perfecting it...
Maybe keep track of all the variables (like volume, time microwaved, power of microwave used, altittude, barometric pressure...?) so it is known how you can use a microwave without losing your yeild or, rather, what conditions are safe for microwaving because I'm sure that it is possible to burn and destroy DMT in a microwave. Even if it is in salt form.

i steered away from it and just did it in my dehydrator, i fear the microwave would create yield loss, as it might start freebasing/vaporizing the dmt without my knowledge as the vantage to the pie dish is limited by a mesh

I'd avoid microwaving DMT even as a salt. Microwave radiation can allow for unpredictable reactions to occur with a lot of organic compounds. Not saying this will for sure happen but again, I'd avoid it anyways.
