advice for a first time lsd experience

Long story short I will be getting 5 tabs of LSD, hopefully by the end of this week. He claims it to be real LSD, having already tried 2 tabs of it himself (he's had years of experience), and I trust his judgement.

Obviously there is a lot of baloney about lsd that has been going around, a lot of it from exaggerated stories, and scare tactics from LEO to get people to not try acid (most common baloney being: "man took LSD, thought he could fly, jumped off rooftop to his death")), so it can be difficult to pick out which rumors are to be regarded as such, and which ones should be taken seriously. Any advice with what to expect would be of great help.

Also, on another note: I do plan on writing my experiences with this tabs on the forum, but I do not know how easily it will be to recall/transcribe the events after the fact. Do you guys usually write things down as you go (things like time you took it, when the come up started, etc.) or were you able to remember all of the details? That question might end up being a misnomer, as I really don't know how (if at all) acid affects the memory.

As for safety, my friend who I've mentioned before will be sitting for me, and I am aware of the importance of set and setting. Other than that, I'm not entirely sure what else would be appropriate.

As far as dosage and such, I think it would make sense to start off with one hit (maybe less if it's your first time with any kind of hallucinogen, but if you've done mushrooms/DMT you'll be able to handle it), then try two some other time. Knowing exactly what one hit is like, will help you gauge what to expect from taking more in the future. It's been a long time but for me LSD was always very clear-headed, at least up until the time I did a stupidly huge dose. On just a hit or 3 of 80's blotter I always knew who and where I was, understood why my friends face was melting, and could remember it all later. IME it's not until you take enough to forget that you're tripping and that it will end eventually, that things really get freaky.
 
If you trust your buddy, I would ask him for advice, if he is as experienced as you say, he should be able to offer sound advice for a first time traveler.
I agree with CrazyHorse when saying that moderation is key, tho I also believe an underdose can be very underwhelming.
Talk to ur buddy, when it comes to Lucy, you have to trust your source. Then make a sweet playlist of your favorite jams, and enjoy.

If you plan on documenting your experience, I think it more wise to experience it first hand THEN think about doing a bio-assay.
Get to know how it affects you, enjoy that first journey. THEN move on to analytical points. Lol Hahaha build a relationship with Lucy, trust me...she puts out.

I've had two good mushroom experiences before, so starting with one hit sounds reasonable to me.

yoga, meditation, good music, incense, and you're good to go :]

getting you're head together and preparing you're mind a lot before hand can really make all the difference to. what you put into it can really reflect what you get out of it. Lsd tends to be much more psycho-analytical than most psychedelics, so the things that have been floating around in you're mind lately can really come to the forefront sometimes during the experience

Also, I tend to come up with what seem like jewels of philosophical thought when tripping. It's not that I can't remember them, there's just usually too many to remember them all. So I try to have a pad of paper to write notes down while tripping if I come across something I want to remember. It doesn't take much, just enough to jar the memory. I have held on to some very special things this way, but of course, sometimes those jewels turn out to be not so shiny afterwards....:oops:

I really wish I knew some friends with some LSD. I've only had it once, and man oh man, I'll do it again if I get the chance!
 
A good space.

Somewhere you are comfortable. First time is probably not the time to go out on the town partying. Your home, a friend's home, a nice spot in the country or desert, etc. where you have privacy, etc. Someplace you will feel psychologically secure. It is great for concerts and such but I'd recommend no crowds for your first experience.

Have some fresh fruit ready for afters. :)
 
I would recommend starting out with only one tab and no more than two tabs. What you should expect is to have fun and enjoy yourself. It's possibly one of the most incredible things a person can experience. I wouldn't recommend writing a trip report AS you're experiencing it. It's a journey that lasts 8 hours or so, and you're going to want to be immersed in it the whole time. I have all sorts of advice on the mindset you should have while tripping and things you should do with your time, but you will develop all of that on your own you've tripped a couple of times and are more familiar with the potential of the experience. I do recommend music. Listen to your favorite music and it will take you places that you never dreamed possible.

I have had a smaller dose before and got paranoid and uncomfortable. I've been told, that more is sometimes more with LSD though i have not tested this myself. From my extremely limited experience i can recommend you to pick an activity beforehand because it made me feel kinda agitated and i kinda hat to ride my bike all day long. Then, another important point is to make sure you masturbate at least once, possibly several times. Thank me later!

Funny you mention that, I've always had a personal rule of taking 2 at least and the only time I have taken a single dose is when i've been offered as a gift. Part of my reasoning has always been that LSD is less potent today per dose/tab/drop. It may also be that fact that i'd rather not underdose, like if i'm gonna take this day to experience this then I want to fully experience it and not feel like i'm right on the verge of "getting there". Either way, depends of what hear you from friends about the potency, how comfortable you are, you personal sensitivity, etc.

Well I can see where you're getting at with that advice... but considering my first time is with my friend being the sitter... I mean don't get me wrong I'm sure there will be an opportunity, although, my girlfriend wants to try it as well, and after I have my first experience we were going to trip together (it being my second trip and her first trip)... similar concept, or is there just something different about 'being alone'?

You tend to get lost on LSD, drifting far, far away, so sex can be a hassle... Depends though - you can get to a tantric moment, if you're with the right person.

Some first time pieces of advice:

But it is healthy, really healthy, so if you feel like crying, if you feel like dying, just go with it, know that you ARE NOT dying, it's just drugs man... Haha! Keep telling yourself that everything happening to you right now is for the best.

Very important: nature, nature and... nature. LSD in a room is a waste of potential. When you see the Earth breathing, all else fades away.

Don't do it alone, it's suicidal. Do it with someone you REALLY trust.

Man, I'm sure it's one of those things that can vary, but for me, a long day of sex on acid I was treated to as a teenager, still stands out as one of the most glorious experiences of my life! I haven't seen that girl in over 20 years but I'd swear we're still connected somehow and I definitely still love her! :love: I will never ever forget that day, just the two of us in an abandoned apartment with a little jam box playing the new NIN album (pretty hate machine), humping away like bunnies.

I totally agree with Autumnsphere that taking LSD (or anything really) out in nature is far superior to indoors! But for me my first trips were anything but terrible, I didn't plunge to the depths of anything (well except that girl I mentioned!) :thumb_up: Mostly just had a wonderful time running around out in the woods with my friends. I probably had about 20 great trips and I never had a difficult experience of any kind until one time I ended up lost and alone, and that wrecked everything for me. Acid was never the same again, and neither was I. So I definitely agree with the idea of doing it with someone you trust!
 
Yes, a lot of people have awesome first trips! But I think that in order to get to a real revelation afterwards, you need to go to the dark side for a while... :) If you know what I mean...

It's just that LSD has a therapeutic wisdom that is often ass-whooping (similar to DMT), and that's the main reason I do it - to deal with unconscious issues and see the big picture afterwards.

I feel like that's half the reason I want to try lsd (and dmt) in the first place is to deal with those unconscious issues on a deeper level.

Haha, then godspeed you man! Ah, one more thing: my personal experience is that the most important things to see are inside us. So keep your eyes closed... At least for the first 2-3 hours... If the dose is high enough, when you peak, your inner visions will become outer visions, and that's usually the moment when you start seeing fractals and laws of nature everywhere, and it's BEAUTIFUL. That's why it's best to be in nature.
 
As I live in the northeast part of the US, where I live was hit by Hurricane Sandy (or what was left of Sandy), and my ability to attain the tabs was delayed for that reason, however now that the storm has cleared out I should be getting it soon.
