Migrated topic.
I've got some lovely crystals but while looking through this site it seems like many people on here talking almost, and although I know this sounds cliche, no offense, but it seems like there are some "far out" people, and by "far out" I mean flat out crazy. I've done acid and shrooms and had beautiful experiences, and I thought I had researched DMT quite a lot (many, many hours), but is this what it is going to do to me?

The people here aren't any 'crazier' acting than your average hippy.
People who do acid and shrooms but not DMT are 'crazier' acting in my eyes than people who smoke DMT.
DMT can be very grounding, at least it was for SWIM.
People here exchange ideas freely and without having to edit themselves like one has to in mainstream society.
'Normal' people are the weirdest people of all if you ask me.

No I agree, "normal" people are probably the weirdest of them all. I'm definitely NOT afraid of being "abnormal" or "strange" in the eyes of other people, because I could give no less fuck about anybody's perception of me. I am worried about pure mental health. I smoke weed every day and consider myself pretty sane (I also consider most "normal" people slightly "crazy"), but I do not want to send myself into a place where when I come back, nothing is the same ever again. Subtle changes are fine, which have made me what I am today through use of other psychs (marijuana, lsd, mushrooms, 2c-x), but I'm afraid of HUGE shifts in personality that close friends and family might find disturbing .

Well you already have your answer. We're all "flat out crazy" here!
Search the site a little and you'll find papers on how ayawaska at least is beneficial to mental health. There is a whole section on healing too.

I'd say that smoking weed all day and getting nothing done and talking at like totally tortoise speed dude is pretty noticeable to your friends and families. Being a stoner affected the way SWIM appeared to others far more than DMT has. DMT has only made people like him more so far.

I don't see the long term effects being any different than those of lsd or mushrooms. The main difference is that smoking dmt is like reaching the peak of a strong lsd or mushroom trip in about 10 seconds instead of 2 to 4 hours.

You seem to stereotype based on nothing, at least my stereotypes have come from observation of a lot of conversation on this site. I smoke weed every day and I am very productive, I do not stutter nor stammer when high or sober, I function just fine without.

Thank you, these types of answers are what I am looking for.

I'm speaking from experience, and I was deliberately throwing in a 'stereotype' (which actually has grounds for its existence), to make you understand how people here might feel when you label us as "flat out crazy". I was only teasing!

I didn't label anybody as flat out crazy. I said that is what it seems like to someone who has not had the experience that others have had. To someone who has not experienced it people talking about juggling elves, being god, etc. seems flat out crazy. Some of these people also seem to believe that what they experience is also 100% real and not because they took the drug, which I respect, but there has to be SOME rationality to believe that there is nothing more than chemical reaction in your brain causing you to see and hear things.

That's good that you respect that. It could be less weird to believe in stuff you have personally seen, than stuff that someone thousands of years ago said they saw and wrote a book about!

There are many discussions here about this. I'm guessing it's 50/50. I'm one of the ones who doesn't believe the entities are real, but anything's possible.

To almost answer your question: yes, smoking DMT will make you sound like us!
It would be unethical for anyone to say what else it could do to you, but I would guess that it probably won't do anything bad.

If you're alarmed by people just talking about such experiences, how are you going to feel in hyperspace when you're actually having them? Have a good read of this forum, and make a decision sometime in the future. :)

It tells you... no it controls you to sit down, shut up, give in and then witness the impossible before it lets you have your body back.

That's all it does.

But it's different every time.

You don't have to be far out to use this substance. But you should be respectful. This is a very powerful material. But it won't take your soul (unless you want it to ;)) or your job.

I could imagine your predicament as I know many people who have read this forum and went, no that stuffs crazy I dont want any of that. Ive told people to read this site to show how amazing it is and its actually had the opposite effect. Dont be like these people just do it and then you will really see, your missing out otherwise, its not as scary as people make it, well it can be but its worth it big time and its beyond comprehension.

As someone else said its kinda 50-50 as to wether people here think its "real" or not, the majority seem to be skeptics I think. It will probably be more profound and earth shattering to mushrooms or acid but its not long and its not going to have any lorng term negative effects. Mushrooms usually make me feel great the next day and the next few weeks, a dmt hit does similiar things, but its more unbeleivable, and it could turn into an obsession, depending on who you are! Do it, you know you want to! 😉

i agree completely with smokeydaze! :D LOL!!

...trying to explain what will happen to you is impossible brother. all you need to know is that you must be ready 100% to let go of everything you "know" and willing 100% to be shown the impossible. reading people's experience reports will only really be relevant to you once you have visited hyperspace yourself. from 100's of journeys i can offer you these two VERY IMPORTANT preparatory steps:

1. surrender to the notion of dying. of being destroyed only to be reborn a wiser, more compassionate person.

2. meet everything with love. the indescribable love, the indescribable power, the indescribable possibility for terror beyond anything.....EVERYTHING in hyperspace is beyond the grasp of that little 8lb. wad of curly meat in your skull. try not to make sense of anything....you are an infant in that place....act like one! observe and let the awe wash over you without trying to place THIS matrix's labels on what you are shown. in time, you will begin to learn a new language, so to speak...

your initial question can be answered simply: nobody DOESN'T come back. nobody becomes a raving lunatic from using DMT. there are those who do not give proper respect to the all-important SET AND SETTING rule and are rewarded with pants-shitting terror...but even THEY come back....and usually...after some reflection on where they went wrong....they decide that they want to go back!!...but with a helluva lot more humility than round 1 ;)
your personality will be changed only to the extent that you have just witnessed a oneness and beauty that every "religion" has tried to allegedly "teach". you will feel closer to your fellow man. you will understand that what YOU do affects others. you will see yourself more as a part of something bigger. whether or not you want to run around naked smeared with your own feces and preach the word of the spice to everyone is up to you.... i myself have just been labeled "deeper", "cooler" and "more tolerant" by my friends and family.

you're gonna grow MFA..and growing is challenging. if you are ready and committed to the process, DMT will be a tool that helps you witness gestalts in every arena of existence...including existence as a whole. but this isn't pot, this isn't acid and this isn't ANYTHING that you can try to compare it with....not even Aya.... this is beyond anything you can "prepare" for. this will teach you surrender. truly.

so- let's recap shall we?
1. don't try to "understand" what we are talking about. enjoy our experiences but place no judgement until you yourself have been where we have been.
2. don't DO it until you are called to do it. and when that time comes, make triple sure that your set (headspace/attitude/judgements/etc.) and setting (where you're gonna be during your journey) are IMPECCABLE.
3. let go of everything you think you know. let go of any "wants" or "questions" you think you'll be able to fulfill. you are going to be shown. your job is to be open and empty.
4. meditation is a HUGE way to ensure safe travels. we all get nervous before we go. it's a sign of deep respect of something so incredibly powerful. clear your thoughts and try to just "be" prior to lighting up.
5. come back and tell us about your journey! we are a family here. all of us, unknown to one another and yet sharing in something more profound than words can imply. we will embrace you and support you as you try to recount what you experienced (heavy emphasis on "try") ;)

looking forward to hearing from you.

LOVE AND GRATITUDE!!

eeep. You would be doing an injustice to not only yourself but the world in general if you didn't take this advice sincerely and abruptly to heart, my_friends_account. Good luck, hope to see you soon when you are little bit more k-k-k-razyyy. ;)
