After Extraction how do you make more defined crystals?

For example. Lets assume SWIM used lazyman's STB method and pulled the naptha out, evaporated it to a white powder, how would SWIM turn that powder into crystals?



The post "The Lazy Man's tek" doesn't talk about using a freezer, but alot of other post talk about that.



Why would one use a freezer after extraction? does this produce better purer crystals?

Swim could do a recrystalization to make more defined crystals. Remember though the faster they form the smaller they will be. large crystals take time and patience to grow. you'll be doing alot of going from fridge to freezer and back again.

and yes when you do a total evap you get any oils from the extraction into your final product. when your freeze precip you get a purer spice.

disolve in as little solvent as possible and keep it warm enough so the crystals do not precip out using a shot glass in warm water for a few hours and the oils should drop to the bottom of the glass.

Pour the solvent off carefully leaving behind the oils then leave it covered at room temperature for 6 hours, fridge for 12 then freezer for 24.
