I found this idea and the article fascinating.

The "dreams" of Google's AI

I have always believed that one of the many things that psychedelics do is to hijack our cognitive pattern and shape recognition functions and create a sort of enhanced pareidolia (the recognizing of shapes and patterns in randomness - such as seeing faces or angels or elephants in clouds) - an exaggeration, or perhaps perversion, of an evolutionarily advantageous trait - to discern your enemy or your prey's features hidden in foliage or otherwise camouflaged in its surroundings.

Check out the gallery after reading the article:

Inceptionism: Going Deeper Into Neural Networks

Look familiar?

This is so fascinating! More and more of these articles keep appearing and each one is as every bit as interesting as the last! Have you checked out:

This thread

or

This thread

There has been some discussion on these AI developements within those threads too!

Thank you for sharing!

I searched before I posted but neither of those threads came up. This would be kind of a companion or expansion to those threads, given the article and the profusion of images. I agree with Hixidom that it is rather liberal and sensationalistic to employ the term AI to the production of these images, though pattern recognition, as I understand it, is a recognized branch of the study of artificial intelligence.

Crazy images nevertheless - the one I posted above is VERY reminiscent of high dose mushroom cloud-gazing.

I'm so glad to see the field of machine learning get so much publicity :) I'd love to work on this stuff, but that's a pipe dream for now. I've been reading a lot about machine learning recently and I'll try to report what I've learned in a thread sometime soon.

The funny thing is that this is what those algorithms are doing with plain images. I'd be curious to see what it does to something the likes of a SalviaDroid masterpiece.

Probably end up being a very banal sky scene with a few clouds. :)

I love this thread!

>>>> Here are instructions on how to install and use Deep Dream.

Also, here is how to run video through it, like the Fear and Loathing clip posted by jbark. I'm dying to see what some of the creative minds at the nexus could coax out of this thing. 😁

Thanks for the links AI is a really cool thing all though scary too if we ever get full blown AI Robots it would end up like a nukeler runaway the ai would keep rebuilding its self till its 100% and theres nothing to correct and that 100% on the nukeler run away it an explosion and its pretty logical thinking that would happen if we made an full blow ai with fellings and such once it has nothig to fix on its self once it hits 100% it will start to change things around it like Me and humanity but we dont have to worry about this is long away what we have know is GAI/ general artificial intelligence witch is what it sounds like general knowledge what are your thoughts on this???

Take care marz.

I think you've been watching too much TV.
Or maybe it's been watching you... 😁

Lol its just a hypothesis Stephen Hawkings says it would do that at full true Ai
we dont know thes things but true AI would learn at such a fast rate till the AI is 100% perfect thean what happens.

100% what? X is never 100% Y. Cucumbers are not 100% green, and GAI is not 100% intelligent (whatever that even means). I, for one, am excited by the idea of runaway AI. Finally we'd get to see intelligence evolve on a timescale of years (or hours, or seconds) rather than millions of years.

I am m excited by the idea Of True AI don't get we wrong its so so cool and thins idea its now a reality witch is cool i love it but a true TRUE AI would evolve on a timescale of years or hours, maybe even seconds) rather than millions of years as it takes BIO organisms to get not even half way point of AI intelligences kinda like you said.

but also u have to Remember we are all are own worst enemies i love true AI but thres always a Risk we will see id love to own a robot way smarter then me to help me and have feelings like you and i but check out this video of Steve Hawking.

Stephen Hawking: 'AI could spell end of the human race

take care

I welcome the end of the human race (and the beginning of the next era of intelligence). I think no parent should outlive their child. Same goes for the human race and intelligent machines. I certainly wouldn't want to "own" a being more intelligent than I am. How could I anyway?

I think you should inform yourself about what Transhumanism really is, and who is behind such sinister ideas.
I call it sinister but actually its pathological.

Thank God, that true AI will remain a thing of SciFi media.

On the other side, millitarized forms of "AI" are a real Danger and Hawkings is right on the spot. They could be our end.
Killer Bots don't need a real intelligence, they just have to act intelligent enough to be effective.
