Greetings all,

Just read an interview with Albert Hoffmann, the father of LSD.

He lived in great and cheery health til 108 (def. over 100)

He used small doses of LSD 25 micrograms as a mild euphoric and anti-depressant.

Anyone tried these very low doses ... curious to hear your experience?

I thought using LSD in low doses (~20ug) was a fairly well established practice for it's anti-depressant qualities. There are a bunch of very informative threads on other forums about this.

I've never quite got it myself, but I suspect that's likely down to not getting the dosage right. I think that's quite a crucial part of microdosing if you want to notice any benefits.

A good friend would always claim that low doses of mescaline would achieve the same effect for him. He also tried a regimen of caapi/harmala alkaloids for a few months and claimed it was definitely positive for him. Been meaning to try this myself as a mood enhancer. I'm always down during the winter months :|

Brother mirror, really interesting suggestion.
Any idea how much mescaline he used?
im assuming it was crystals ... synthetic?

Hey there,

please Google microdosing - there's quite an extensive shroomery thread about microing shrooms and acid.

Friends have done it with morning glory, citing great results doing it semiregularly - super-social, better focus (as always, better focus on what you really want to do) and very very uplifted mood. Just be sure not to overdo it, there's a fine line between being jolly and neuroenhanced and being totally out of it, mainly with blotter.

Also, James Fadiman talks about how people are experiencing improved life quality microdosing on about a 1/10 of a regular dose.

Good luck, try it, but remember - anything that is too good to be true is most likely just that.

I have taken a very low dose several times (half of a typical blotter, probably in the ballpark of 25-50ug) and enjoyed it every time. Of course I also enjoy medium and high doses too.

Many people seem to prefer ultra low doses to moderately low doses. At very low doses just above threshold, there are no psychedelic effects and no confusion or disorientation. The only effects are euphoria and energy, not a bad deal at all. The good Dr. was definitely right about that.

When you go up a notch, which I would estimate to be the 50-100ug range (who really knows?) you "trip" but it is very mild. Some people find this kind of distracting. You're not tripping enough to solve the world's problems or discover the meaning of life, but you're also not going be clear headed enough to do anything too complex. Personally, I think this is an ideal dose for going to a movie, museum, etc.

Yes, if I take a half of what I consider to be a normal strength blotter, there is no impairment of memory, judgement etc. I can't really think of anything that is more difficult to do on such a light dose. If you're in the right mindset, this may even enhance creativity, focus, social ability etc.

As you start to creep up into the stronger light doses, (50ug?) I find the first noticeable change is that your internal filter gets turned off or down. As in, you maybe more likely to blurt something out than you would be. Again, this can be a good thing in the right setting. Its not until you get into the range of what I think is 75-100ug that it becomes harder to focus.
