Hi, let me introduce my self.

Im a 36 year old happily married man with two lovely children, early in my youth 17+ i did my share of experimenting with most psychedelics, but at around 26-27 years i had some not so enjoyable encounters with the mushroom kingdom force, this was telling me to back of my path for a while, i was gong to heavy in to beeing a druged up "old" kid with no jobb no real future. So i took my self together sharped up my life, started working, got a wife, kids, and now working as an engineer in a big company.

But i am still the same dreamer i was as a young boy, my mind is still psychedelic, and i cant never forget the real experiences i had on my mystic journeys. So about a year ago my interests for psychedelic again started to comeback i started to read again, listening to psychedelic salon and doing more research, but now going at very much slower paste than i was as a "kid". Taking then right path this time not the fast "not so safe" route we usaly end up as young ones.

hope to get a full membership with this forum with this post, as i feel my story is not so unusual for my age group of peoples that are on this forum, and i have a lot of knowledge to share and learn in the years to come.

Hi Glenwizz,

A fellow engineer! Well almost. Still in the works.

Do you incorporate psychedelic experiences into your ideas/designs for engineering?
I'm excited to hear about this!

Full membership can take some time. Keep reading, keep researching, explore the threads and the Wiki.

Again, Welcome!

Hey Glenn, glad to have you here!

Your path does sound familiar: I'm in my mid forties and indulged heavily in psychedelics in my twenties, gained a lot from it... Then the bad trips came, a string of them, one on shrooms, two on acid, one on DMT- it was apparently because of me, not because of the particular substances. Took a long break, came back, and am enjoying the reawakening. Wife, kid, career and all.

You seem to be at a very powerful moment in your journey- the first round of big psychedelic lessons has been integrated, your life path is solidified in a positive direction, and the next round of exploration lies just ahead. If I weren't in a similar position myself, I'd envy you.

As far as full membership goes- don't let that be an obstacle! Open Discussion is one of the site's most active forums and a place for posting virtually any topic. The best way to get that full membership is to post actively! Promotion is based not on time spent here but on the quality of your posts. You seem like a solid, thoughtful and articulate person, so it shouldn't take you long at all.

Thanks for replies guys, Guyomech yes i believe it like this for many of us we start out young thinking nothing can hurt us we can handle it all, but we all get our lessons sooner or later that's shows us life is fragile. Its then then man is made, will you surrender and continue your wrong path and die in you 20ies or will you grow an old wise man with lots of good stories to tell.

wearepeople yes ofc. But it hard to remember who my mind was before i started experimenting, it too many summers past for that, but my mind has changed, and it is easier for me to visualize and problem solve when not "working" sometimes. Problem solving becomes an inherit part of your mind you always think new ways to see around a problem.
Often code you have been struggling with for 5 houers at work, the solution might come in the shower at home when totally relaxed away form the work space. I do believe my mind works in another way that others non psychedelics but its hard to set to word the differences.

This sounds fairly similar to my path too. I had a lot of enjoyable experiences with psychs when I was young, mainly LSD, but then THIS happened and I pretty much stayed away for about 20 years. But I'm back on that horse now, a totally different person with different motivations, and I'm optimistic that responsible use of certain substances can help me heal some of these old battle scars I carry.

Welcome to the Nexus! Get involved and have patience, I'm sure you'll be a full member in no time!
