MeatMachine
Rising Star
Hi there!
This is my first post on DMT Nexus, so... Where shall I start?
My name? On here It's MeatMachine- I created it at a time where I was 'into' the machinistic view of the universe. The idea that everything was the result of a logical process of events was exciting to me, as it gave me a medium through which to contemplate the nature of the universe. Essentially it's a reference to how we're just memes of particles, big balls of chemicals that have self-assembled into people that are made of, well... Meat. Proteins and such. I mean, that's not all we're made of, but I can't go around calling myself "Meatandbonesandgristleandhair etc etc... Machine".
I'd like to note my current universe-view is not one centred around the machinistic nature of biology, but these days I have more thoughts pertaining to the biological nature of machinery (and indeed, everything).
Who am I? I've been described as a bear-like gentleman. I'm not amazingly great at the social aspect of life, but that's something I've indeed been working on. I'm often described as intelligent, though in many ways I disagree. Articulate, that's what I'd call myself. I have a large, barrel-shaped body and a hairy chest. I like to whistle and sing. I'm not sure how deeply you'd like me to go into my life outside of psychadelics, but if you are interested, my main creative and physical outlet is Martial Arts Tricking- an aesthetic blend of twists, kicks and flips. I suppose this should all be enough to give you a basic idea of the kind of being I am.
What took me here?
Well honestly, I think science took me here. As a child I always wanted to know exactly how things worked. Every part of any system, I wanted to know it all.
My first experience with illegal drugs was pot- I actually became interested through a friend at school who was explaining to me how a bong worked. When I put my theory to practice I learned of an interesting alternative to alcohol (after taking alcohol I found it hard to imagine an effect different from it, so I just had to explore the possibilities of my consciousness I suppose).
After smoking weed for a few years, and taking some other drugs along the way, I realised all these drugs were almost meaningless to me in their myriad of mostly socially-compounded effects; I'm a very visual person, and I wanted to take the drugs we are taught to fear as children. I wanted to see colours, pink elephants etc (well, I knew pink elephants were less than a possible outcome of psychadelic drugs... Right?).
So I took shrooms a couple of times. I found them most enjoyable! But while they were stunning in their visual effects, my research on fractals lead me to seek out LSD, which while providing me with some intensely pleasurable feelings and awesome visuals, left me kind of frustrated by the fact that you become a zombie for a day or so after a good trip, and where I'm a fairly chilled person on acid, people I've taken it with have become rather hectic and hard to handle. That said, the mood swings acid induces do not lead me to want to take it by myself.
So. DMT. Far more immersive than LSD, and it has a certain visual aesthetic I am quite fond of. My friend is quite the spiritual fellow, and as I'm aware became interested in DMT for this reason.
I don't consider myself particularly spiritual; I prefer the word 'scientific'... Though my various musings have lead me to ponder that in particular contexts, these words describe very much the same thing.
But yes, DMT interested me because of the visual aspect. I wanted to see this insane machine world. I wanted to go to hyperspace.
My friend loaded me up a small introductory dose- to try it out and test the water, to experience the nature of the visuals. It turns out for whatever reason that the small dose actually provided me with a breakthrough experience straight off the bat! It was uncomfortable at times but I exited hyperspace in an elated state, practically in tears from what I'd seen- a feminine glowing being made of light, a tesseract rotating in many dimensions at once... Huge vials of coloured bubbling liquid, and even the 'rebound' effect I'd heard of. I thanked my friend and contemplated for quite some time about whether or not to do DMT again. Obviously I decided I did indeed want to become more accustomed to this awesome world.
So I've got my own DMT now, freebase, and have taken it perhaps 10 times in various doses and methods. Srangely even my strongest trip since hasnt been nearly as profound as that first one, but I have so many questions to ask about how to handle and truly get the most out of this drug that I decided I needed to have a more active role in the conversations that happen on this forum.
I'm aware a large number of you here are very involved in the spiritual aspect of this drug, and while it was not originally my intention to do so I've also become quite interested, due to a few things that have happenned on my adventures.
When I get my ass in gear I want to start putting together some images that I hope will be an accurate depiction of what one sees in hyperspace. I think isometric art is a good medium to start with.
Other than this I'm not quite sure what else I have to offer this forum (I have a habit of assuming people have already thought what I am thinking, and hold my tongue), but I will try and post as much as I can
