Aminita experience?

Migrated topic.

Just curious if anybody has given this mushroom a shot and had no effect from it....such as having 15 gms of supposedly high quality product, and getting only a very small headache as a result. Happened 3 times. Might cross tolerance with tryps or phens play a role? My understanding of the pharmacology is that different receptors are involved. Thanks.

I did try it a few times last year but only 6 to 8 grams, not much happened something between a mild cannabis high and an opiate feeling, although a bit dark if that makes any sense. It was self picked mushrooms dried hard and soaked in cold water for 12 hours. next time I might rehydrate the mushroom and fry it, it's supposed to make it more effective. I'm vary of going strait to a high dose with this one, so I would recommend taking it in small steps. try 6 grams one evening and 8 another evening and so on........ and mix your mushrooms so the dose is even, they may vary allot in strength.

good luck

My experience is limited to a having had a few handpicked shrooms a few times, so i don't know about standardised extracts and such but i'm familiar with some of it's effects.

I wouldn't rank it among the best of psychedelic's wich i think are the familiar tryptamines, phen's, lysergic's and a few other substances like iboga or oral cannabis.

There is a feeling of floating or flying, especially when you sit or lie down. This feeling can get a bit nauseating if it get's more intense, but i found that LSD diminishes that nausea if it's taken in conjunction with the shrooms.

It also gives visual distortions that can have a psychedelic character. Taken with LSD it gave me the weirdest visuals. I felt like i was just a head, floating through an endlessly caleidoscopically unfolding space.

Initially there is a state of extreme clarity and stimulation at low to medium doses. People who take higher doses report a state of sedation as the first noticeable effects, so it must be dose-dependant whether you feel sedated firstly, or stimulated.
In low to medium doses, the stimulation changes into sedation gradually and when the sedation starts, the psychedelic effects begin.

Some people have spectacular experiences with them at very high doses or having unexpecedly, extremely potent shrooms.

For this reason, if you want to try larger amounts, i would go for a standardised extract. Just to be safe.

i have on 2 occasions eaten 33 dried grams, boiled in water. the first time was with the yellow (eastern n. america variety). this produced little effect, and fell asleep. the second time, in NZ with red amanita, i consumed them with a tiny pinch of psilocybin. this experience was vivid, dreamy, colorful and comfortable. maybe a little sweating, but enjoyable and visionary. i would do it again, with the same dose. one of these times, i may be catapulted out of body like i thought would happen.:)
that being said, starting with lower dose is wise unless you already know the potency of a batch.

I ate one amanita a few weeks ago.. Dryed it over the fire for about an hour, and ate it, it tasted really good actually! I dont know how many grams it was, but very little I guess, I didnt trip or anything, but I felt quite good and happy, and at one with the forest, and the rain felt really really good.. Cant wait to have a proper dose!!! I loove amanita! Here is a picture of the beatuiful amanita I ate(if I manage to upload it)

Amanita contains ibotenic acid and muscimol. Ibotenic acid is highly neuro-toxic and a small amount converts into muscimol in the body.
Muscimol is the psychoactive alkaloid in amanita that you want. You can convert the ibotenic acid to muscimol by heating it.

The LD50 for muscimol in mice is 3.8 mg/kg s.c, 2.5 mg/kg i.p. The LD50 in rats is 4.5 mg/kg i.v, 45 mg/kg orally.

Here is a recipe that I found, haven't tried it but it sounds good. You have to experiment with dosage since it varies a lot between the mushrooms.

"This method of cooking Fly Agaric helps to convert ibotenic acid and muscarine, into muscimole (the main visionary component of the medicine). By cooking it this way, you remove most if not all of the unpleasant side effects, and create a stronger visionary experience.

1. Make sure the cap to stem ratio is about 3:1

2. If working with wet mushrooms, dry the mushrooms out in the sun or on a dry screen on the lowest setting of an oven, with the door slightly open. If using the oven, check regularly as it will only take an hour at the most.

3. Render into a power using a coffee grinder, spice mill, etc.

4. Put a pot of water over heat/flame.

5. Bring the water to 180-190F/82-87C degrees. This is VERY important. Too hot and it will destroy the visionary components, too cold and not enough of the toxins will get converted.

6. Once you’ve reached around 190F/87C degrees, place in the powdered contents.

7. Stir regularly and watch the temperature constantly. If the water starts to simmer, it means that the temperature is at least 212F/100C degrees and too hot.

8. It’s recommended to let it steep in the hot water for a half an hour to an hour, but sometimes I’ll let it cook longer than that. But once enough time has past, remove from the heat, let it cool, and the medicine is ready for ceremony."

Thank you Tordyveln! I honor the light within you. "Tis the season"

When I did it a few days ago, it took many hours in an oven, even though I had a fan blowing on it all the time.

Probably depends on how large the mushrooms are. You can always cut them into smaller pieces.
