An Attitude Entrance Exam?

Migrated topic.

I'd love to see a 10-20 multiple choice exam based on the Attitude and/or FAQ before anyone can make a profile.

Is this possible?

If so I would be willing to help form questions for it with the help of my fellow Nexians. Not enough time to do this on my own right now as I work 60-70hrs a week.

Seems like it would be a sure fire way to help the noobs get their game on before they even make their first intro. post.

With a big focus on contributions.

4) Use the WIKI and Search feature on the forum to build your questions before asking them.

:p :d

 Touche' pussy cat buuuuutt that doesn't negate the need for it.... why was this never done if the membership is growing leaps and bounds?

3rdI, your example questions are tek based and I am proposing that they have simply read and understand the attitude and support section and validate the fact that they did by answering a few questions.

Anyone can just hit the accept/I read this and never really read it. Yes that is a good way to cover Traveler but it still leaves us with having to deal with them and having to reiterate everything.

All Universities have entrance exams :want:

I think something is in the pipeline and will manifest as and when.

Here is an example of what I am getting at:

Based on the following paragraph: " Respectful Communication

Watch your language. Communication is comprised of not only the explicit but also the implicit messages, which are transmitted through choice of words and general tone of speech. We do not want curse words and immature slang in the Nexus! Please use language in a dignified manner. "

Which do feel is an appropriate example of Respectful Communication.

a) using the :p icon
b) using a link to prove your point
c) telling someone to bite your ass!

I understand where your coming from and from the jist of the other thread I think that all this has been discussed behind the scenes, I jut think that The Trav and the other Mods are busy people and finding the time to do these things may not be top of the tree.

I think the voting system was put in place as a kind of stop gap measure and it seems to work well.

I can see that. Well said. A first step on the ladder.

I am also proposing that all of us Nexians help to form the questions so that it doesn't always fall on the mods to come up with everything.

How about we (nonMODS) put all the ?s together and get that part done for them then they can just set it up.

Would that help to process?

I am big on proactive behavior and anti-complacency.

im not sure if it would help as most of the repeated Q's are pretty standard, but you could start a thread for peoples suggestions then they could be used as and when they are needed.

It cant hurt.

Then I propose that this thread be the start of that

I will start posting 1 Multiple Choice ? a day based on the initial Attitude/Support page that they see and go from there.

got to say I dont like this idea.

If someone has to take a mutiple choice test to make an account here I dont know if I want to be a part of this place. People start off in the nursery as it is..their actions there should speak for themselves It already weeds out the people that are not right for this place and there are measures taken like suspension etc..

This is not the baby nexus. Anyone signing up here is an adult. Why should we be testing people with multiple choice attitude tests just so they can then be judged again in the nursery?

No offense to anyone but I thought this was a pretty bad idea from the get go.

Same goes for asking people extraction questions to sign up..like are yoou for real? Many people dont even want to extract ever and just drink ayahuasca or eat mushrooms and are here cus they like the site. Why should they have some 20 questions bs?

IMO there is a line that you can cross into rediculous territory, and this is that line.

An attitude test? Ouch. I deal too much with that kind of thing at my office already.

I understand the intent, but would worry that such a thing would create more divisiveness than the way we have it now. It makes me a bit blue that there may be a lot of members with negative attitudes-- fortunately, I have not encountered many at all.

I think voluntary tests on areas of chemical safety, legality, etc. would be helpful. I am an addict of online quizzes, and love the chance to learn through them. Voluntary tests might increase the awareness of some members and cut down on disruptive/inappropriate posts. (a tie in to the Ethneogenic University?)

There are a few free options to develop online quizzes. Here is a site that reviews a few options: Top 5 Online Quiz Makers

I would be happy to develop a quiz or two in a few weeks, if some mods here would be willing to review them.

jamie said it already. The nursery works how it should, and people are either promoted or not based on their attitude there.

There are many reasons I didn't go to university, but those entrance exams were definitely one of the reasons. :)

Nursery sounds alot more degrading to me than a entrance exam/prep test as I thought we were in a University and not a day care.

The nursery is where the seed starts becoming a plant. It's a beautiful place ;)
