Hi all,

I have some "spent" yellow naphta left and I would like to try to extract what is left (probably some n oxide) with IPA but I do not know if both are miscible or not... do you have the answer please ?

thanks!

Why not just evap the naptha? I see no need for additional solvents...

Because I like to re-use my naphta, moreover re extracting with another solvent should yield less gunk.

yes they will mix..

And if its n-oxide you wouldnt have a problem removing it, it will crash out when naphtha is cold (though its still doubtful how much n-oxide will go to warm naphtha in the first place).

IME, evapping the remainder yields very little gunk....but to each their own...good luck.

yes they will mix..I had the same idea...they mixed into one solution..and salting it out was like..sort of messy..and I think its hard to salt it out of that mixture becasue the iso holds on to some of it in the naptha...
