Artists who fuse the glitch aesthetic with techno

For a long time I've been into work by artists like Flashbulb and Aphex Twin. Most of their music is very unsettling though.

Lately I've been getting into the edge of glitch music (or idm if you call it that) that overlaps with bouncy techno. These genres are very distinct but can be fused very well. It's more groovin and seems better for meditative purposes than the stuff that is frantic and all over the place.

Richard Devine mixes glitch with techno here: youtube.com/watch?v=RnNbvC_rMyU

Aphex made a few tracks like this back in the 90s too, but overall it is a very rare style. Can anybody recommend anything similar?

This to me is just some straight up unique style of techno, but I do hope someone posts something satisfyingly close to this track you linked because I am DIGGIN this!

Greetings, fellow tech-heads!

TBH, I didn't hear a lot of glitch in that track, but as you said it's at the edge, mainly because glitch generally doesn't "do" pounding 4/4, or not for more than a few seconds at a time 😁

It reminded me of Speedy J circa "Loudboxer" if that's any help? He's very prolific and worked with Mike Paradinas a fair bit who you may also know of:

But, I couldn't imagine meditating to either...sorry. I presume you're familiar with e.g. Plaid? They're glitchy but less frenetic. IMO the best example of 4/4 plus clicky is Richie Hawtin's first DE9 Mix, Closer To The Edit. Me, mine and that have had some stellar K-holes together

Anyway, nice to have a conversation going about music other than the Gratefully Dead!

My tastes have moved on a bit, but it's all still in here, somewhere...was always more of a groover than a glitcher. Nothing still comes close to Mr Hood!

I listen to primarily idm/breakcore and techno but I can't really think of a mix now that you mention it! So that said my suggestions are probably very off but I hope you enjoy anyways, as I can never resist sharing music!
If your looking for the "trippyness" something like richie hawtin might suit you?

If you want "deep" something like this?

And just because I still clench my jaw every time I hear this, check this out (not techno but "glitchy")

Maybe you can post another song, since it is kinda hard to base your preferences off one song? That song you shared is Ace BTW

Since you mentioned aphex twin, I'm sure your familiar with autechre? If not definitely check them out (in chronological order as their stuff has become a lot more abstract over the years).

Aphex twin has been my goto guy for the better of 25yrs, especially his ambient works, there hasn't been many like him since. Other than that I like several genres. Dark and heavy dubstep, psystep, psytrance, idm, Electronica, trance, techno etc. Bored with guitars, and the whole rock scene at the moment, seems stale for the time being. Lots of good music out there and in posts above.I also find it quite enjoyable making my own on my computer. Anyone here do this also?
