Ayahuasca in Sweden

Migrated topic.

Rising Star
Hey all, currently a company organize a ”drug” party. (I.E ayahyasca ceremony) in Sweden. This been under the radar for a couple of weeks and just recently (today) major magazines and newspapers wrote about it. For instance the largest newspaper in Sweden noticed this event as well as the government controlled news/radio –outlet.

As for legalization the police said
Carina Skergling (at stockholm police) says: I have talked to crime intelligence in Norrtälje (city/municipality) and it felt like they knew this . Then they decide if it is something that we should do something about . It is a question that will be handled according to normal routine .
In short – and in other words (as of currently). Ayahuasca can be administrated “legally” in this county.

As I’m a Swede myself. I can’t otherwise then congratulate humankind to this. Thank you

Note of interest, They might "ban" Ayahuasca. But this been going on for quite some time. If it was to be banned - it would had been ban allready.

I'm not sure how you read legalization into that statement. It sounds more like the local police have asked an investigation unit to determine whether or not to go ahead with an investigation or prosecution. I'm not familiar with drug classification for legal purposes in your country, but in mine there have been more than a couple misguided people who have misread law and claim to dispense legal ayahuasca. None have been prosecuted, other than the. Sante Daime and UDV cases, but some have been shut down by the very ayahuasca community to try to head of potential damage to 'the cause'.

The thing is here, until somebody gets hurt, it's but really a law enforcement priority.

I don't see things like this as positive. People who have done it a couple times and suddenly get a shaman complex, thinking they can guide ceremony because they have been guided. Imo, that's like saying you can fly an airliner after one goes on a flight or two.

I never visited any of these ceremonies but according to the local spokesperson they do have a ”real shaman” facilitating the ceremonies. Additionally they have medical doctor as well as therapist if needed.

As for the police
There been ceremony just few weeks ago and the police knew about it then – and know about it now. Only difference is that the media has put a focus on it as “drug and narcotics” being freely available at these retreats.

The police could of course raid it next time.

On topic of Ayahuasca, as far I've found - No one has ever been prosecuted for the brew (in Sweden). REMOVED, NO TALK ABOUT BUYING/SELLING. I guess, the law enforcement doesn't see it as a menace to society.
