Greetings, fellow foragers in foldspace!
I trashed my first draft of this essay because it started to read like some kind of Match.com essay. Let's see if I can keep a bit more focused this time...
I've been doing this for a while. I'm not claiming that I'm more experienced than anyone, simply that my experiences have been spread out over two decades. The first time in, I was translated with the assistance of 5g cubensis with a syrian rue chaser, and I haven't really looked back since.
Yeah, I was a tiny bit influenced by McKenna's concept of heroic doses I have seen every venture into this sort of thing as an opportunity to test myself against my own psyche (and whatever else is being revealed to us in these psychedelic spaces). As a practitioner of Kuji-in and other forms of structured meditation, I've found that ego disintegration is a fantastic way to see if you really have gained any significant level of understanding or mastery.
I went through a several year period of similar mushroom type ventures, done maybe once every 3 or 4 months. I progressed to experiments with IM ketamine, and DPT (which for reasons I can't fully explain, remains my favorite...bummer that it seems to be MIA in my part of the world), a few experiments with San Pedro...and yet, in all that time, I never found myself in the company of DMT. Sometimes I feel like the only one
One problem is that I got intimidated in regards to home alchemy after blowing my eyebrows off in a poorly planned experiment. Ah, youth
I never really returned to anything more complex than 'grind in coffee grinder & boil' after that incident But that fear is now gone, and I believe the years have given me the wisdom and patience to avoid such unfortunate errors.
I really am strongly attracted to the 'space' of DMT (even though it's all theoretical, to me, at this point). It seems a very natural, and almost inevitable, progression of my travels so far -- and as indicated by the title of this post, this marks a return to this world after I had taken a bit of a break for a few years while focusing on un-enhanced consciousness expansion (meditation, breath work, and so forth). I hope my own life experiences (good, bad, & ugly) can add to this place, and I sincerely hope I'll be welcomed here!
