Bad Breath Smell

SWIM has told me a story about his first extraction he did. He said that when he smoked it it definitely smelled and tasted like burning plastic, but also like some super funky mega bad breath. This is the only batch that SWIM's ever smoked from.

Is this super funky mega bad breath smell something that is common?
 
Well it does have a very peculiar smell, but whether that is similar to mega bad breath, I cant say... If he did the extraction right then it must be it, other possibility is that there were traces of solvent still in it leaving an even worse taste. Its important to take care in the drying process, let it dry for long (or in some food dessicator) before storing.
 
I think the smell varies but always has that underlying "peculiar smell". Just got some new shoes, and it has the plastic smell that is sometimes noticable, or there's the more mothball smell, and yes sometimes it resembles bad breath. SWIM always recrystalizes and says this gives it a sweeter aroma.
 
When I roast my cebil seeds it smells like freshly roated coffe beans..I like it. when I roast them after adding base though it's not nice..

But yeah clean spice smells like gross plastic to me..
 
While a lot of people seem to identify with the 'burning plastic' comparison.... I have always instead identified with 'bad breath'....

To me it smells like morning breath... which opens many other questions as well... such as does endogenous DMT production contribute to the smell component of 'morning breath'?
 
I think it's pretty much just the indole thing.

I had a low dose once in a room with some friends and they all thought it smelt like shit... not what you want to here right after you've had a toke, but I believe there is a bit of indole in feacal matter unless I'm mistaken.

Either way I think it's a very organic smell. The burnt plastic thing makes it sound more synthetic and sharp. I don't think it's like that at all.

No..that's usually yeast overgrowth in the mouth and varying degrees of a toxic digestive system:?
 
At first it smelled like alien candy to me. Now, it tastes like some kind of really hidden secret delicacy. This is with simple STB and freeze precipitation. I think I just lucked out with my subjectivity on the 'burning plastic' thing.
 
My wife can't kiss me after a Spice Voyage until after I have brushed my teeth, used mouthwash, and then eaten something.

She says it smells like bad eggs.

Personally, the smell of DMT is a trigger for me. It provokes both immense joy and some anxiety.

your bad breath after smoking sounds pretty normal. use some gum afterwards if it really bothers you or others. Keep a small thing of mouthwash near the lift off site.
 
The dreamer's DMT does not smell nor taste like plastic whatsover, and no-one has ever described his stash as plasticy. He thinks this plastic smell people describe must be from contaminants. He also has some yellow xylene-evapped stuff, which is much worse tasting than his white naphtha-freeze-precipped stuff and I guess might be described as plasticy.

He thinks DMT smells sweetly fragrant and damp.
 
This is a very strange thread indeed, I have never experienced this so called bad breath smell from spice.
Use D-Limonene in your extraction process as a more natural alternative (Nontoxic Limonene Teq)
and the spice doesn't have a bad smell at all it has almost a very clean and refreshing taste.

I really dont think it has a bad smell at all. Quite the opposite... it just has something about it that reminds me of bad breath.

It's become one of my favourite tastes/smells by association :)
 
Finished Noman's and the first thing SWIM thought when smelling the smoke emitted was bad breath too. That was after no re crystalizing though. The way it is talked about and described, it makes it seem like it is the most horrible, hard on your lungs, disgusting thing ever. If anyone has smoked meth, spice is not nearly as foul tasting and smelling. Hopefully no one here has smoked meth, but if you have and am a first timer. NO WORRIES.
The closest thing described that SWIM noticed was the burning sensation in SWIM's lungs. It wasn't a glob of molten whatever, you can tell when the spice is inside you, that's all...plus that, by the time you notice the sensation in your lungs, your already feeling the effects come on....
