Bad Extraction then Good

Hi all Nexus Nation,

the tek was based on this here

Extraction went bad:

1. I had Caapi in vinegar for 3 days, heating it up few times a day.
2. I filtered the vinegar.
3. Put in NaOH
4. I had nothing in, NOTHING got sedimented.

After thinking what may have gone wrong I have two takes:
1. I had very little vinegar, comparing to other times.
2. I put too much NaOH, and burned all the alkaloids.

Since we planned the session that night, I did another extraction, and went better then EVER:

1. I put a lots of vinegar 600ml for 50g of Caapi, and heated up 2 times in 2 hours, and filtered it.
2. I put in NaOH and:
a) the solution first turns dark as coffee
b) adding more NaOH it turns like coffee with milk, THIS IS THE MOMENT TO STOP THE NaOH.
2. I did another pull and got 1,5g of alkaloids out of 50g of Yellow Caapi.

I see in jungle they just beat up vine, but that vine has not gone bone dry in between.

do you agree with my interpretation why it went wrong?

I did the same thing previous weekend and I had 600mg, last weekend I burned it all, I mean with NaOH. I didn't get a molecule of harmalas.

But at least you have now a method that gave you 3% right?

Destroying my extraction that morning was the WORST experience, worst than the bad trip!!!! We planned the session that night and I had just destroyed all, NOTHING was on the bottom of the dish...

I did right away second extraction, same powdered Yellow Aya bach, from Maya, even the same bag. And got rewarded by getting more than ever...

well I hope this doesn´t happen again
