Ive looked through tons of DMT bad trip accounts but have never found anything like what happened to me on one occasion. I should say that Ive smoked DMT many times and there is no need here to go into the amazing positivity that it always imparts on me. But this experience, though terrifying, had a greater impact on my psyche than any other individual trip:
This was the first time I took a really massive hit of DMT out of a 'machine' (mini-Hennessy bottle) and it was also my first time breaking through the so-called 'veil'. After lying on a couch and taking two giant hits, I closed my eyes and saw what looked like one of those laser-beam spheres we had in our childhood rooms, with the ball in the middle and electricity emanating from it to the glass. Something was pushing me toward the center and I fought it. Every time I turned from it there would be a surge of electricity pushing me back to the middle.
At this point, I don't remember how or why, but as my friend later described, I stumbled off the couch and started walking around the house like a drunk, slouched over and spaghetti-legged. What I remember is moving through hallways or corridors, and though everything was brightly lit and golden, I was too panicked and lost to observe or appreciate anything. I didn't know what the hell was going on. The sound of footsteps (mine or someone else?) gave off mini-echoes, as if they were bouncing off the walls of an electric cave. I felt the presence of things watching me from all around, but I was too confused or in motion to see anything. Time bending.
Here is where it gets really weird. After walking entranced through these corridors for some unknown portion of time, my bodily senses and awareness started to return a little. I walked into the room and saw my friend sitting on the couch. He was surrounded by the usual DMT patterns. I heard him say, 'You starting to come back? back, BACK, BACK, BA, Ba, ba....' The delay on his voice freaked me the fuck out, and I plunged my face into the couch. At this point, I didn't know if I was me or my friend. This is really difficult to describe. I seemed to keep jumping from my body to his and back. For moments I would be in his head looking at me and then I would be in my head face down on the couch. It was like one last climax of insanity to this bizarre and frightening trip. I don't know how many quick jumps I made from body to body. Eventually the effect faded and I was returned to myself and fast approaching baseline.
I don't know what to make of this. Was I just so confused by the experience of ego-dissolution that I imagined myself as my friend after he spoke? Is it possible that DMT opens up a portal to allow one to move into another's body? I've since learned that you can't fight DMT; you must allow it do what it's going to do. But I've never had such an experience since, nor have I heard of any.
What do you think? I've heard of shaman who can supposedly travel through time or see things happening miles away. Is it possible to literally see through the eyes of another?
