A Soxhlet setup looks really interesting. Would water and a normal hotplate work fine? What would be the cost for a complete 1000 ml setup?

Do I need a faucet to provide running water? What cheap/simple setup could I use to avoid that. I want to be able to put the setup in a storage room, where it can work continuousely for days.

Btw, is this on any international watch list?
