BRF to Tray method

Migrated topic.

I know you can crumble BRF cakes and use them for the tray method, however im wondering if the BRF cakes have to be freshly birthed, or could they be on a 2nd or 3rd flush? I did the BRF tek and fruited 2 harvests of mushrooms. I am wondering if instead of going for a third flush if i crush them and use the tray method it would infuse nutrients and would be much less work than getting a third flush then restarting the jars just to put new cakes in.

I just thought of this, Ive never come across it online, if anyone has tried doing this let me know what youve experienced.

its possible,
but ya risk contams,
there will be a recovery lapse,
and the remaining flushes will be limited.

see my v tek thread for details on how to
avoid all these hassles..........

It's been done by placing the chopped up cake (after 3 or more flushes) in a pre-pasteurized bag of 50/50 manure/straw mix, and it works. After the substrate colonized it was transferred to a tray and cased, then transferred to the terrarium 2 weeks later.

You probably won't get significantly more from them at that stage, just let them run their course and start your next batch now.
