I've been using copper mesh disks in a bong to vaporize dmt for the last couple months.

Normally i torch it until it goes grey, but i've just come across a thread that says the copper turning grey is oxidation.

My first instinct is to heat less & leave the copper color on, but dry hitting my gvg with the mesh results in a slight metallic taste.

When heated propperly before use does the mesh retain the copper taste & keep its original color?

I'd really not like to keep torching it & oxidizing the metal if it poses any health risks.
