I've been wondering if Kanthal that is used in rebuildable Mechanical Mod vaporizers would be a better choice that the copper mesh?

I use a Mod and have plenty of Kanthal laying around in different sizes, does anyone know if this would be a better choice?

I know it might be more difficult to form a disk, but with the smaller gage it might be possible.

I've always wondered how much to torch the copper mesh before putting it into the GVG.

Always cooking it pretty well, but wondering I'd that is right.
