Butane

Has anyone tried a straight extraction using just butane, considering butane is a non polar solvent, the same way that you do cannabis. And would doing so increase yields considering the super low temperature cause I have always been under the impression that heat will destroy some of the molecules.

It's food for thought... you could drill a hole in the bottom of a glass bottle, punch a hole in the cap, fill the bottle with powdered bark, then empty a can or two of butane into it and let it drip out into an evaporation dish...

Mimosa hostilis does not contain freebase DMT, hence why we first use an polar face and then the non polar one, so butane is not very helpful here. From memory there’s been some experiments documented on the nexus, a search would bring them up.

Indeed, it would requre some kind of base treatment for this to have much of a chance of working. Add to that DMT's poor solubility in cold alkanes and it looks like an unnecessary set of technical challenges, mainly centred on how to pass an extremely flammable liquefied gas through a caustic slurry under pressure without blowing yourself and others up. Not really a project for the casual stoner.
