I have bad allergic reactions when I manicure the lawn and I have found something today that might be of interest to my fellow Nexians who are looking for natural allergy relief.
Butterbur. Petascites hybridus and Petacites japonicus
WebMD.com has some great info on the plant and British/Swiss studies show very promising results for relief of allergy symptoms.
Side Effect Warning from WebMD: "Some butterbur products may contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), and that’s the major safety concern. PAs can damage the liver, lungs, and blood circulation, and possibly cause cancer. Butterbur products that contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) are UNSAFE when taken by mouth or applied to broken skin. Broken skin allows chemicals to be absorbed into the body. Do not use butterbur products unless they are certified and labeled as free of PAs."

Do any of my fellow Nexian Scientists know how to remove the PA's (pyrrolizidine alkaloids) from self made extracts so I can grow my own Butterbur and make my own medicine???
I hope this helps some of you in your search for all natural remedies.
