Cactus grower

Migrated topic.

Spanishfly

Rising Star
Hi, I joined this forum because Google found it for me.
I have been growing and propagating cacti for many years, one particular species being Lophophora williamsii (peyote), with which I have extensive experience. I can contribute a lot in this area, so I really need access to the cacti forum. I regret that I can contribute little elsewhere. I will return in a week and see how the land lies. Meanwhile, Merry Christmas, everybody. Judith

spanishfly, there is a wealth of botanical and other scientific knowledge and expertise on this site, and patience is often required..
generally, once one has shared a little knowledge (not necessarily photos), be it scientific or experiential, one is granted full access..

MERRY XMAS TO YOU TOO

The powers that be here appreciate a little intro... and a few posts to feel out your vibes. This can be bothersome, but it really cuts down on the BS in the main forum.

There are many cacti people here, including myself... but obviously, the main focus is DMT.

I have a nice tray of LW seedings and a bucket of grafting stock. Just waiting for the free time to learn to graft.

Look forward to picking yer brain

Why do you feel you need to graft a relatively fast-growing species like Lophophora williamsii? Judith

I'm trying to fill a bounce house with buttons

I want to use williamsii caespitosa as a ground cover in my atrium

seriously... my goal is to have a hydro grafted loph forest like some friends over at m-topia have going on.

At least when grafted: Red lights grow them long and skinny, Blue grow them fat... Alternating between the 2 grows soda can sized/ shaped lophs in a short period of time.
This picture is off google... not mine
