Can someone confirm the legitimacy of this extraction method?

I've been reading about a couple extraction methods, and they mostly involve heating and freezing and things, which make me skeptical of this method. Also it just seems too easy. Does anybody know if it will actually work?

Looks like a simple STB, except no safety precautions.....

You can get serious chemical burns and go blind if a highly basified solution goes on your skin and eyes.
