Can you make changa w DMT fumerate?

I'm working on a limonene extraction, and am wondering if I need to convert to freebase to make changa/enhanced leaf, or can I keep the spice in its water-soluble salt form and add it to my changa like that?

I'd like to avoid an extra step if possible.

Not an expert but I believe you will need to convert to freebase before making Changa. You will be smoking the crystals in changa so you would want the smokable form of the crystals (ie freebase).

Convert it to freebase. Smoking fumarates is NOT safe because of toxic byproducts which get created.
