Can you use for A/B

Migrated topic.
Sulfuric acid works fine. It is quite corrosive, which is why most people stick to vinegar or phosphoric acid.

Potassium Hydroxide will work as a base just as well as Sodium Hydroxide.

Why do people especially since it so hard now to get Lye without question or visit do people not use Potassium both available in large quantities at your local pet shop as Ph - + for Aquariums ???

I'm not sure...that is a good question. Most teks call for sodium hydroxide so that is what people look for.... Posassium Hydroxide seems like it would work just as well. It can raise the pH of water to 14 just like NaOH....maybe more is needed? I don't know.

Any chemist friendly members wish to comment?
