Cancer Science Updates

Migrated topic.

Kronas

Rising Star
I wanted to start a central thread for updated Cancer Science, Nutrition, Cures, etc. This was a suggestion from Pandora in an earlier thread. Feel free to add anything that has to do with our bodies, foods, and lifestyle choices that will help to expand our knowledge of these subjects.

This is the research I have been drawn too in order of importance IMHO. May all be healthy and educated. Much Love Nexus.

- Endocannabinoid System

- Raw Cannabis : A Dietary Essential

- Cannabis Oil and Skin Cancer

- Dr. James Oschman discusses Earthing

- David Wolfe on Raw Cacao

P.S. Sticky if possible?

Thanks so much!

What I would love to have stickied either here or in the Health section is a strong rant about how important early detection is. If you find a lump, have a fever or cough that's weird, loose weight suddenly, please GET it checked immediately. Worse case scenario, you are out some money. How can this be worst? It means you got it checked and it was nothing or minor.

BUT, if you get it checked early, you may be able to enjoy the prognosis that my husband does. T1 = 95% chance of surviving over next 5 years and a good chance of living the remainder of his life (after treatment) cancer free.

Here's a couple relevant links that we feel might help:

Phoenix Tears:

Cancer Survivor Network: Cancer Survivors Network

I'm sure more will be coming. Though these are not strictly "science" they are relevant. Phoenix Tears is a fascinating alternate or adjunctive treatment. The Cancer Survivors Network is filled with all kinds of resources - it's very helpful, from science to financial to chat to a section on bereavement.

I am aware of approximately 4 Nexians who have had metastatic cancer, including my husband. Sadly the other 3 disappeared. I hope they are enjoying life like it is a giant mango, but I suspect the worst. I am thinking my husband is going to be around for quite awhile and maybe we can pass on some "lessons," like Early Detection is NO joke. Difference between loosing some teeth and sensory information but getting his life back with minimal disfigurement, versus a nightmare of treatment, loosing face parts, having tumors appear in the thoracic cavity, etc.

Thanks again!

I highly recommend looking into medicinal mushrooms (reishi, chaga, and many other polypores and gilled mushrooms). There are a lot of really promising anticancerous activities there, and medicinal mushrooms can be used either on their own or as a complement to western medical treatments for cancer.

Check out "The Fungal Pharmacy" by Robert Rogers, and "MycoMedicinals" by Paul Stamets for more info.

I totally overlooked those important aspects Pandora, early detection and being able to communicate with others in similar positions is priority #1. Much love and gratitude for helping your other half with so much compassion. The healing grounds on which we live are strong!!

I will search out those books Ilex, how could I overlook mushrooms?!

Of course we need to eat plenty of
dark green leafy vegetables
consume dark fruits
exercise
plenty of nights sleep in complete darkness
full body sun exposure while grounded
plenty of fresh clean water.

As far as I can tell Raw Cannabis Leaf Juiced is THE quintessential component to limiting and reversing these free radicals. Any chemists who would like to chime in you are always appreciated.

I'm convinced everyone should be taking medicinal mushrooms, even if you don't have cancer it might help prevent it, and there are myriad other benefits to the immune system and other body systems as well. Another neat thing about them, combining several different species has a synergistic effect, being more effective than any one mushroom taken on its own. As for free radical scavenging, chaga is the most potent antioxidant food or herb discovered so far.

Someone once told me a good antioxidant diet would be to drink green tea (or yerba mate :)) in the morning, eat dark chocolate with lunch, and have a glass or two of red wine with dinner. Sounds like a good life to me!

There are tons of anticancerous/adaptogenic herbs that are worth looking into also. Rhodiola, cat's claw, siberian ginseng, noni juice, suma, Astragalus, Gynostemma, yarrow etc. etc... we are awash in potential natural cancer treatments.

If I had cancer I'd do some research into the immunosuppressive role of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA).

A lot research was done in this immunosuppressive effect in the 1960's when organ transplants were in their infancy and sunflower oil was shown to be a very effective immunosuppressant. Any oil with significant levels of linoleic acid will have this effect.
Polyunsaturated Oils Increase Cancer Risk

PUFA also cause mitochondrial damage though oxidation and enzyme suppression and have adverse effects on the endocrine system, in particular thryroid function.

I wouldn't want any of those problems going on especially if I had cancer.

That's if the PUFA's didn't cause the cancer to start with.
