It seems that electric signaling in our bodies goes beyond the nerves, and there are also electric signals that (among other things) coordinate the death of stressed, old, or weak cells. I wonder if psychedelics have an effect in those electric fields, too. I was also surprised to read that apparently biofilms use electric signals to communicate, coordinate their growth, and even invite free swimming bacteria to join.
