Cercis siliquastrum?

Migrated topic.
Just out of curiosity i was wondering if anyone was able to analyse the Judas tree (Cercis siliquastrum), I read that of anyone had something obscure in mind to try and persue it. so I have these growing and they're purely for the purpose of Bonsai as many of my plants are but I am now curious as to what (if anything) is hidden beneath.

Here on Turtle Island we have Cercis canadensis, the redbud tree, which has splendidly vivid and tasty flowers.

According to Lloyd and Lloyd, 1884-1887: Drugs and Medicines of North America.

Cercis Canadensis contains neither alkaloid, nor crystalline glucosid that we could discover and the only constituent of marked characteristic was the tannin that gave the astringency.

Take it for what a report from the late 1800s is worth. My guess is it isn't the most productive genus to look into.
