Changa Failure

Migrated topic.

My friend did 2 pulls of AC, they were abundant in yellow crystal goo, then added some grain alcohol to the dish, melted it, then smeared aya leaves, chacruna, blue lotus, and syrian rue seeds crushed all over in the melted goo and let it dry. This was his first time making Changa. But when he smoked it, it did absolutely nothing, gave him a headache actually. He tried to smoke it a good few times, in a GVG and a joint form, nothing. The melted goo placed directly in a GVG produced nice results, what could have happened?

Maybe there was too much plant material, i.e. the goo being spread out to thinly onto the leaves?

Why in the world would your friend add crushed syrian rue seeds to this otherwise fine blend? There is not one respectable recipe in the world that calls for such a thing. Tell your friend that he/she should do some more reading on how to make changa before wasting any more materials.

Not sure of your quantities here. If your friend is consuming more than the equivalent of about 7mg of dmt in the first hit or two then he'll notice the effect. Assume his yellow goo is something like 50% spice and do some calculations for how much pure dmt he's smoking.

Crushed rue seeds won't do anything. Your friend needs to use something with higher concentration of harmalas - harmalas extracted from from rue or from b. caapi or enhanced leaf caapi. Lots of good teks for these on the nexus.

To start you must determine the ratio of herb : dmt : harmala that you want the changa to be. Common ratios are 3:2:1, 2:2:1 or 1:1:1

As said already, never use raw rue seeds in a smoking mixture, make a freebase extract.

1. measure weight of dmt freebase goo.
2. weigh an appropriate amount of harmala freebase, based on the ratio chosen
3. weigh an appropriate amount of herb mixture, based on the ratio chosen
4. determine the volume of the herb mixture in the mixing bowl
5. take out the herbs and fill the bowl with undenatured 95% ethanol to the same volume of the herbs
6. add the harmalas to the ethanol and put the bowl in a warm waterbath and stir until it dissolves
7. add the dmt to the ethanol + harmalas, it should dissolve fast
8. add the herbs to the ethanol + harmalas + dmt and stir so that all herbs are equally wetted
9. evaporate the ethanol, while occasionally stirring the herbs to ensure equal deposition

Keeping the warm water bath warm helps to evaporate the ethanol. Use a well ventilated space to evaporate the ethanol and keep any and all fire and sources of ignition away from hot ethanol.

Some say the changa must be cured, others say it is ready for smoking after the ethanol smell is gone.

I have a Changa, 1.1.1 with just Chacruna leaves.

It's completely useless. Its an instant head ache and uncomfortable feeling.

Chacruna is not for smoking in my experience .

Come on now, smoking Syrian Rue seeds straight definitely causes an effect. Not just the extract. It is very noticeable.

Maybe it is the chacruna which is giving me the headache. I basically melted a glass pan layered with goo with Everclear, put my mixture in, and then let it evaporate, I guess I used too much plant material. But it is still strange because I am very sensitive to DMT, it seems as though the more I used it, the more sensitive I became, unlike all other drugs. So I would think that I would still get something, anything from smoking it. Makes no sense except that my dilution was too much and that my plant material was too much...

I'd lay money on the Chacruna giving you a head ache. It also makes me feel awful .

Some thing els to bare in mind.

I have a Changa, Black vine, DMT, Black vine Alkaloids, 1.1.1

When I smoke it, nothing happens, maybe slight DMT effects.

I have learnt to wait. I lye down with a blind fold and wait, thinking this is pointless. It takes a good few minuets but it does come on and get stronger and stronger and gives me a really deep experience.

Those same alkaloids smoked alone are the strongest Alks I've extracted to date and enhanced onto a different herb, is very powerful .

Every batch is individual from other batches in my experience.

Trying to figure out why is a pointless task.

Update: I found out that it is the larger leaves that do not work, but the shake works well :)

I find texture/consistency of the herbs plays an important role in the distribution of alkaloids in Changa. Big pieces of leaf are nice for aesthetic value but sometimes do not absorb much.

What seems to work well for me is to tear up some Mullien into a fluffy fuzz-like texture & use it to hold together larger pieces of leaf, or other plant matter. Usually more mullein is needed than other plants just to keep things nice & clumped together.
