chronic post nasal drip, please help

Migrated topic.

I've had sinus trouble in the past as in re-occuring sinus infections. Many times an ordinary cold would turn into a sinus infection lasting for weeks and sometimes months at a time. I went to a sinus guy a few years back and he gave me one of these things .
We're Sorry | Page Not Found | Walgreens

it works well ..but

What I've found recently to be most helpful is this: a nasal spray made from hydrogen peroxide, water, sea salt, and baking soda.

look it up online people report great results from this.

I have noticed a big difference in my overall sinus situation from using this mixture. It,s very strong . I use food grade hydrogen peroxide thats super potent only a couple of drops is plenty . I only use it twice a day . Or when i feel something coming on.

this may or may not be helpful to you but I thought it was worth mentioning.
just be careful of the ratios of these ingredients too much of one can be painful.

good luck

Not sure if this will help, But for years I had Horrible nasal problems all the time, for weeks and months at a time I had running nose, congestion, your basic nasal issues, it would clear up for 2 weeks and then come back for several weeks ~it was horrible.

at the advice of a friend I started taking YES " Yarrow environmental solution " and I am happy to report for the last 2 years I have had only 2 days with nasal problems. = for me , it was a Life changer.

Yarrow Enviromental solution

thanks for the tips guys... I have ordered some of the yarrow solution and although I've done nasal irrigation with a neti pot, I haven't tried it with hydrogen peroxide... I will try that also... I think it may be a physical abnormality because it's literally non stop.. but I can only hope.

I'm going to an ent for the same issue now. Never done mephedrone, and started before my new extracting hobby. I did do a fair amount of coke in my early 20's. i feel your frustration makes following to sleep aggrevating. when you feel like you you constantly have to clear your throat.

When I read up about it I see loads of people with the same problem yet no solutions... I don't even know if it was the mephedrone that did it, it feels like something else entirely... but the doctors in the UK are hopeless with this, they don't seem to want to find out what it is.. and all the usual tests are coming back negative... if you find out anything please let me know... it really is awful, surprisingly so, I really can't believe I've had it non-stop for 2 years, and the docs now tell me there is no more options but I think that's non sense... yeah, the throat clearing it's just so irritating, I'm not joking really, I'm really on the edge with it, it makes me want to kill myself when it's really bad, sometimes it keeps me up for days... and I even quit smoking recently and now I'm just losing it... oddly drugs seem to be the only relief, if I take kratom that clears up it because of the cough reflex but only temp. also uppers distract from it, mxe and ketamine also distract... I did try abstaining from snorting anything for 6months and it didn't help... I'm gonna try that again + daily irrigation and now I'm even going to try herbal remedies which is odd for me but that's the stage I'm at... wish you the best of luck...

Dude i thought i was throat cancer, because i'm i smoker with hpv. so i freaked and went to the doc. Not something i usually do. I'm still waiting on the results. Just got a videoscope done. Regarding the "distraction's" i agree they help. I find it the only release from the aggrevation. Thanks. Dont let this condition get the best of you. There's that saying i thought i had it bad cause i had no shoes.... Until i met a man with no feet.

Its possible that poorly synthesized substances or 'cut' that is added to them could have caused your problem. A corrosive acid or base can seriously damage nasal lining. This won't happen from extractions unless you snort your solutions which no one would ever do. Solvents won't cause such problems. If anything they will make you dizzy and dry out your skin or mucous membranes. But it shouldn't cause permanent damage unless your huffing them.

What may have occurred is that the initial damage caused from snorting stuff has healed but while that damage was there a kind of chronic infection has developed. It could be organisms that are not responding to antibiotics and nasal sprays. I'm not a doctor so I can only speculate on that one.

Certain herbs are useful for similar nasal problems a good example is eucalyptus. The essential oil is very soothing to such tissue. It might not solve your problem but it might help with the symptoms.

Thanks burnt. It sounds like I've got a lot of experiments to try.. I'm going to try to prepare a variety of sprays. I've been doing the nasal irrigation with the isotonic solution (sea salt/baking soda).. but I've also ordered some benzyl alcohol, supposedly that is useful for drying out the mucous membranes? also I will try the hydrogen peroxide tip. Then maybe add some of this yarrow solution (perhaps I should be taking that via a different ROA)? and then maybe try adding in some eucalyptus essential oil.. I also ordered some of this suspended silver, colloidal silver spray, another non medical spray, but it's worth trying at this stage. Thanks everyone for their help.. I will post everything I find out.

Burnt, would you add a few drops of the oil to a spray? is that ok?

Chronic post-nasal drip is an effing nuisance.Ibeing789- have you had a nasoendoscopy (bootlace-sized camera up your nose)?I guess you have.The trouble with ENT doctors is that they are only really interested in structural problems which can be identified by this investigation.If they find no structural or obvious inflammatory issues (like nasty vasculitides such as Wegeners) then they rapidly lose interest.

Rhinitis (inflammation of the nose making more mucus to drip in the throat, out the nostrils or tracking into the ears) can be allergic in origin but not always.The right blood tests can establish if you have an allergy-but not always.Common allergens include house dust mite, cat and dog dandruff and various pollens.In some people tobacco smoke can cause it as can pollution, strong perfumes or detergents.

Other factors to consider are:
1.your job ie any occupational exposure;

2.common medications like anti-inflammatories, blood pressure meds, anti-anxiety meds and ,believe it or not, Viagra!!

3.house plants;

4.acid reflux;

5.Certain hormonal problems such as an underactive thyroid.

6.certain foods in some people.

There really is alot to consider before a diagnosis can be made.

When snorting nefarious substances, did you favor one nostril over the other?

nah.. ya know that's the most frustrating thing about all this, compared to my friends I hardly ever snort anything... I've snorted decent amounts of ketamine, but RC's very rarely, I've tried things, but to get so screwed with this after minimal usage.. it's shitty. I guess it's true what they say about snorting, 1 line can screw you for life apparently.

something that has crossed my mind from time to time, there was one time when I was exposed to evaporating hcl acid, could that have caused it?.. I guess I already know the answer to that.

try using a neti pot, ancient yogis have sworn by them for millenia.

It is basically pouring a saline solution through one nostril and tilting the head in such a way that it is doesn't go down the throat, but out the other nostril. once in the am once in the pm, and goodbye infection. I know yogis who do this every day whether or not they have nasal problems.

That's exactly the kind of nasal irrigation I've been doing, daily for over a year... helps but doesn't cure it. Probably good for daily hygiene anyway.

I used to be very prone to sinus infections and got them multiple times a year. I started snorting a tea I would make with white sage and mugwort and sea salt..sometimes adding other herbs like yarrow and mullein, whatever I could locally wildcraft..it really did help me..I did it alot for a while. I havent done this in a few months now but it seems to have gotten much much better. I have some mapacho I want to try this with as well, since it is done traditionally as a sinus purge.

I knew a lady who had some sort of chronic sinus infection that was really bad and she did this every single night and swore by it.

Thanks Fractal, I'll add that to my experiments. Mapacho, I've seen people doing it, wo, looks like horror, but I will try it if nothing else works...I got used to nasal irrigation it probably isn't that bad.

sorry I didn't reply sooner lawnman, this is actually a good point, I need to remind myself of it.. I think the gravity of it being permanent is setting in but it's hard.. I've got this Indian doctor and he loves to tell me stories about this school for blind orphans that he trained in India... he never gives me any meds that work, those stories work better, gotta have some perspective, relativity sucks sometimes... I'm with you in solidarity brother, best of luck.
