[EDIT] I would just like to underline that this thread was not made to give voice to conspiracies - conjecture about the nature or identity of Cicada 3301 is encouraged, but linking it to the type of conspiracy theory discouraged here is not.

I am embarrassed to say I had to google Nargles... I have a 4 yr old boy, but have never seen a HP movie!! There are many MANY viewings in my future as he gets older I am sure. On a similar note, he is watching Star Wars (the original) with a friend today for the first time. Probably 20 years since I have seen that film... (and yes, I know what an ewok is!!)

Well, I just googled "Yarna D'al Gargan 3301" and one of the first hits redirected me to this thread, so apparently not!! :)

Intriguing to say the least. My sister is convinced it is an art project and I tend to agree, though an art project that is baffling some of the best cryptographers and encryption junkies in the world...?

With references like Allister Crowley, William Blake, William Gibson, R.W. Emerson and with encrypted quotes like “The work of a private man/ who wished to transcend,/ He trusted himself, / to produce from within” and “For Every Thing That Lives Is Holy”, it seems cicada 3301 is an individual or a group that would get along quite well around these parts. ;)

Nope, but I will now! Especially the bit entitled "things that had been XORed".

The lack of responses on this thread (vs the number of views) lead me to believe that the CICADA 3301 may just be a top tier NEXUS project. ;)
