clairvoyance

I was wondering if anyone is clairvoyant in the sober state?

Sometimes I think of things before they happen. It doesn't happen a lot but when it does I'm always taken aback.

Can enthegoens serve to activate certain extra sensory capacities?

I was also wondering where empathy might relate to clairvoyance. Some have thrown the word telempathy around which connects telepathy with feeling.

Is energetic hygiene an important link of clairvoyance?

Take care

I felt inspired to share a short story that has a telepathic quality to it. It touches on a couple of themes I feel are super relevant to the environment of telepathy and is one of the more concrete examples I can share from personal experience.

A friend and I sat around a fire, the previous 5 days had been spent with lots of isolation in nature and silence in our minds. Some other friends of ours went up further into the mountains for an explore.

As I sit there losing myself in the dancing flames of the fire I suddenly look up and see my friend meeting my gaze and we both look in a certain direction and then go back to looking at the fire. My body felt uncomfortable and in that moment I saw a particular friend's face (who was exploring the mountain) in my minds eye. My friend and I carried on looking at the fire, just hanging out. A few minutes later my friend says to me, "Did you feel that too?". I knew straight away what he meant, although at the time I brushed it aside, didn't make connections between all those layers of my experience. "Yeah, I had a weird sensation in my gut". We get talking and work out that in that moment we both looked at each other we both picked up on something being amiss. We both said there was no point indulging fear and stories about it and kept on carving wood or whatever it was we were doing.

A few hours had passed at this point and no one had returned. We thought it was important to stay calm but did get concerned. A few more hours later they all returned. The friend whose face I saw in my minds eye had slipped on a log crossing a creek and had badly mangled his ankle. Obviously this interested us a lot and we got to trying to work out when it had happened. We figured that the feeling that something was amiss was within the same 30 minute period as our friend hurting himself.

Had I not spent so much time in isolation and silence I doubt I would have even noticed that I saw my friends face at the same time as the feeling in my belly that something was amiss. I think these things happen all the time but we are so busy in our minds that we miss it, rationalize it away, not even notice that something has occurred in our experience because of preoccupations.

What was it exactly that made us look up, why did we look in a certain direction? The direction happened to correspond with the rough direction they were, despite the fact we thought they were going somewhere different. It is mystery, it would be too easy to write it off and yet was a truth shared between 2 friends, without any real explanation as to why or how.

Here's a personal anecdote from another thread. I have other stories of some kind of clairvoyance related to Ayahuasca but this is such a simple thing and for me highlights the mundaneness of possible clairvoyance. Not to say it is a thing or not, just a personal anecdote. Reality is weirder than we think, clairvoyance or not. Its also not something I can tune into as a reliable source of knowledge so take that for whatever that might mean.

Working with harmalas tend to open some hidden door in people even in day to day life.
Just burning syrian rue as incense brings low level effects in people. I've seen it in a number of individuals to
make it statistically significant. Simple stuff like knowing the time and it's 22:22 or 23:23 on the clock (double numbers).
Sometimes dreams lead to real events down the road.

My attitude to this changed with time and I consider it a low siddhi. It's a neat experience, but what practicality does it
bring to the table? Nowadays I just acknowledge such an occurrence and move on with my life.

There are quite a number of similar stuff in aya literature. Shamans use aya to predict where animals would be and so on.
These pathways tend to stay somewhat open or at least we develop sensitivity for them, imo.

In spiritual traditions empathy or love is a highway to realisation. If everything is Love, then the more we attune to it,
the more we attune to reality. Who knows really? Live your life and examine everything for yourself. It would surely bring some
results.

Peace 🙏

Confirmation bias aside, I'm with @Animistic on this one. It happens from time to time - why and how is hard to fathom. Some of it might be educated inferences; we're capable of a far finer and more penetrating degree of perception than we may normally give ourselves credit.

It sort of implies that this would be a skill that can be developed, and by extension, that some people will be better at it than others.

If energetic hygiene means not sitting around eating macdonalds' takeout watching TV with a bunch of toxic jerks - well, that's just pandering to a stereotype - there's always a possibility that it can happen. But absence of distractions on a worldly level? People may rely on intuition even in a high-pressure professional environment as well.

I'll ask my clairvoyant friend whether they apply any techniques and disciplines - if they're (or we're…) good enough at it, they'll tell me without my having to ask ;)

I think that clairvoyance may be created when we peek between perceptions. What we notice in between our perceptions is undefined and therefore we may create a perception to define it. Once defined by our perception the clairvoyance-portal has closed. It has now become part of our 'new' reality as defined by our perceptions and is incorporated into our Being.

In a sense we can 'choose' which gaps, in between the perceptions, we would like to define, or not. Some perception-gaps are not aligned with our heart and may not be suitable to create a 'healthy' reality. There is no time-constraint on when to choose, one can have a peek decades ago and choose to incorporate the observation into reality at a later time. Maybe even in a later life, or earlier life, if that is within your current perception-sphere. One can also go back and re-assess past gaps and redefine them and as such create a different reality. This often occurs when you have been presented with certain experiences that indicate that a gap was not 'properly' defined to be in line with your Heart. One can also actively search for 'improperly' defined gaps by doing shadow-work and adjust them when found. Thus potentially avoiding experiences that do not align with your Heart. As always, only practice will allow you to master.

Since we are not all-knowing our perceptions are shifting all the time, whether we are under the influence of a 'teacher' or not. We constantly get peeks in-between our perceptions. So, in my mind, we can be perfectly clairvoyant when 'sober'.

Just my fleeting perceptions at the moment.

Today's mundane example: I apologised to my partner for having added slightly too much salt to the scrambled egg I'd made, but it turns out she'd sweated a lot while working and said it was perfect. Normally I'd put rather less salt in that, or any, dish.

The other day we had a new friend visiting, I told her she should drink more nettle tea, turns out she's never drunk it in her entire life! Maybe that's more a matter of being perceptive - but then, where does one draw the line?

There were a few more examples in the past week, not all food-related ( ) but they escape me at the moment. Thinking about it, I've spent maybe a couple of decades developing a sort of unfiltered verbal output and it's usually when I'm just letting the void speak through me (not that Void! 😁 ) when these telepathic-seeming moments occur. Channeling or Bullshit, I don't know, - but I suppose they are backed up with a certain level of general and specialist knowledge, of course. Still, sometimes stuff comes out that I didn't know I knew.

This really resonates with what I've been attempting to describe here (y)

In the interest of balance:
It's be paywalled, my apologies.

This is why the hyperconnectivity psychedelics engender in the mind are a two sided coin. One side you see connections between things you didn't before and in the other you see connections that we're never there to begin with. How do we differentiate between the two and come to some kind of psychedelic sense making? Topic for another thread but is relevant when talking about clairvoyance too I guess.

Seems that the ability to call this judgement better than chance alone is what might start one being able to claim the title of "clairvoyant". Also, having that hyperconnectivity without necessarily the help of (contemporaneous) psychedelics.
