Migrated topic.

ok, i had a search and i couldnt see anything on this.

I smoalked last night with a friend of mine, she doesnt smoalk very often but enjoys it when she does. I was explaining to her the different blends of changa i have and what they do. I talked about the dangers that hamalas and certain other chemical/inhibitors could cause when combined.

After her journey (her first breakthrough, she loved it:d) we were talking and she said that she was on the pill, and did i think it was safe to mix this with Changa. I havent seen any info on this and i was stumped.

She was fine this time, but she is a very dear friend of mine and i wouldnt want her to come to any harm at my hands.

Does anyone know of anyone who has had any kind of adverse reaction from smoking changa/hamalas when taking the contraceptive pill?

(i dont know the name of the specific pill, but i could find out)

cheers

The oral contraceptive pill is basically of 2 types: the 'combined' pill containing an estrogen and a progestogen, or a 'mini' pill consisting of a progestogen only. There is no adverse interaction between MAOIs/RIMAs and either estrogens or progestogens, or a combination of the two.

This is very timely, I had a decent search looking for answers to this same question but couldn't find anything - I even sent Erowid a question although I know they receive countless queries everyday.

Corpus - do you know where I can find any more information on this? - aka - sources of your info?

The source of this info is The British National Formulary, a book which lists the uses of all the medications prescribed in Britain, plus side effects, doses and important interactions. All doctors here use it, both in hospitals and General/Family Practise. Its a thoroughly reputable source, produced largely by The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.Im fortunate enough to get a hard copy of each edition.:)

Heres their site:

But we must always bear in mind that the MAOIs we use are not listed specifically. But as a class of drug the MAOIs have no significant interaction with the hormones in contraceptive pills.
