Coughing more during DMT Use

I'm not sure why but I've been coughing more when smoalking deems. It's not consistent though

Part of me is wondering if something has snuck into many extractions that is effecting the end product. Think I'll do another evap test on my vnmp napthta to double-check that it's evaporating cleanly (though that may be a waste at this point as the can I've been using is almost empty).

I'm also wondering if it's due to inflammation from pg since I'm a regular vapor and pg tends to increase inflammation.

Has anyone else experienced this? I think I'm going to start eating a spoonful of creamed elderberry honey (very tasty) before my journeys to see if that helps.

Another note is that it's a need to cough that lasts for a little while but then totally subsides. So part of me also wonders if it's some subconscious psychosomatic response. I am dealing with a lot snd struggling along presently.

Thank you for reading.

I think there are at least a couple of kinds of coughs: irritation and reflex. I’m assuming you are referring to an irritation where after you smoalk your throat feels different causing you to cough to try to clear out the irritation. Certainly some new contaminates could be the cause. For me there was one time when I made up a pg + dmt + citric acid vape juice with way too much citric acid. This juice did something bad to my throat and cased a cough.

As for the reflex cough where the cough just happens, I get that all the time on the initial breath of DMT vapor. Makes a one hit experience impossible for me. I’m so sad seeing all that smoke explode out of my mouth before my lungs can process it. But I’ll still have had enough that starting over isn’t happening for a while. One trick I’ve found is that I’ve got this little vape w/ some weak dmt juice it – no good for tripping at all. But, if I take a hit from it, go ahead and have my cough, then I’ve got that out of the way and I’m good to go.

It's a mix of both. Sometimes, one feeling is like the two to the point that I can stifle it successfully here and there. It's odd to me because it used to not be a thing. I'd smoalk and maybe experience some irritation but not the need to cough or the irritation that is sometimes coming with it. I'm wondering if it's connected to something psychosomatically.

On the plus side though, I double-checked my solvent and it evaps clean. So there's that.

Regular vaper here. I generally avoid e-liquids with fruity citric tastes because they burn the throat. Deem malate does the same. Freebase does not.

I tend to go for more desert type flavors (right now, I'm all about the lemon meringue) as I had noticed that also in the past.

Since vaping is being mentioned, I'm sharing this brand new KG video in hopes it might shed a bit more light on this matter:
Thank you for this. I've wanted to reframe my vaping habit for a while because "too much of a good thing" which the video does an adequate job to illustrate such as the case and as to the variables and causes as to why on many levels. Really well made video. I'm working on a lot of habits at once right now. Breaking some, building others. Perhaps I like torturing myself, who knows. Second day no YouTube (I didn't think it'd be that hard, I just really didn't want to because I don't like my full-time job which is where I watch most of my YouTube), aside from this video, but I watched it here, so not sure how much that counts.

And I wrote this while vaping. Dark humor.
