I have seen some reports that Mimosa Hostilis will grow back if cut to the base. I do have many plants that die back and grow from the roots so i am considering planting the tree that I bring inside for the winter usually out in the yard and seeing what happens if I cut it back to the ground in late fall and cover the stump with straw. We do have some freezes but generally nothing like northern climates. I am in FDA Zone 8.

It has been a container plant for 4 years and bringing her in is becoming very difficult even though the container has stunted the growth a bit. She is not for extracting but for her living magical presence.

Does this sound like it might work?
