d-limo remains clear

Migrated topic.

PerPLexED

Rising Star
100g mimosa : 1.2 liters water : 350 ml KOH Advanced Nutrients PH UP : 125 ml d-limo

1-2 of mixing, shaking, breaking emulsions, and it settles and looks jet black, however, the d-limo is entirely clear. PerPLexed is wondering if he should continue the extraction, pulling the d-limo. or if he should do try basing more until the d-limo is yellow?

I am in the middle of my fist d-limo. I use lye for my base. The limo is yellow after a couple hours of stirring every few minutes. I have my FASW evaping now.

Have you used PH up before with other solvents and gotten good results? I believe from reading the forum that for STB style extractions... lye is the only option. I think for A/B you can use weaker bases. In a STB the lye actually breaks down the plant matter, so KOH may not be serving that purpose.

Im fairly new at this, and am lucky enough to have lye readily available... so I haven't experimented with KOH.

But, the limo is yellow on my only attempt.

Not sure about what PH up actually contains, Ive heard people using A-N to grow ganja (I myself would advocate AN) but
It might be a weak base.

Anyway, if your mimosa isn't jet black then it isn't based enough. Not enough base and it'll be grey. If your limo isn't pickng anything up,
heat the whole thing up in a hot water bath and then do the seperating while its hot, or leave it to sit longer, mix more etc.

Chemically speaking, the more thoroughly one mixes, the more you should pick up. (to an extent.)
