D-Limo Won't Freeze, Right...?

Struggling with amor fati's d-limo tek... Layers wouldn't separate after adding fumaric acid, letting sit for three weeks, and adding even more fumaric acid. So, I froze what I had...

What formed was an ice 'box' with a center of liquid. The ice when melted reeks of d-limo. The liquid center reeks of nothing, and when poured into a cup... a layer of white (all the fumaric acid I added in desperation I'd assume) settles at the bottom.

What is going on?

I guess to add to this... Using amor fati's d-limo tek, what color will the d-limo layer be and what color will the FASW+spice layer be? There are pictures of the finished fumarate spice being turned into base, and there's a picture of THP. None of the the layers. Bonnaroo is on Thursday... I need help quick, please and thank you!


First picture was the ice shell that was around the liquid (the second jar)... I put the d-limo melted ice (the frozen stuff that reeked of d-limo) back through my THP (the last picture)... Both went from yellow to a dark brown color. There is a layer of white at the bottom of the thawed liquid; I assume it's fumaric acid.

Where should I go from here... Eh.....

In the first post you say "no separation after adding fumaric acid".. You mean after adding FASW, NOT fumaric acid by itself, right? Are you sure it was water (no offense, just that some people mistake containers and I remember people using other solvents instead of water) ? Also, did you shake a lot or something? The water should immediately separate from the limonene.

As for color, forget colors, the water layer will ALWAYS be below the limo layer. It will naturally smell of limonene too because there will be traces of limo in it, so dont judge by smell. Evap the water layer, maybe base it by making paste with calcium hydroxide, and pull again and salt again otherwise it will be too impure.

As for the precipitates, filter them and later try to redissolve in water. If it redissolves very easily in water, its dmt fumarate, if it doesnt, its excess fumaric acid. Just dont throw anything away at this point and lets try to troubleshoot it and get your dmt out before you discard anything.

I just found out one little f'up on my part. I got "Orange Oil" instead of the "D-limo". But "Orange Oil" is 90-95% D-limo, and "D-limo" is a minimum of 95% up to 98.5%. I don't think that little bit of water would make a difference as the tek tells you to add water.

So, in pictures two and three, do you think that's fumaric acid? And the liquid that came out of the freezer smells like nothing. Is that where the spice is? Should I pour the odorless liquid into a pyrex dish and evaporate it in the oven?

I've added a lot of water and fumaric acid to these solutions. Should I add more? Getting all the supplies for this was not cheap; so it's going to suck if it doesn't work.

Oh yeah, I did mix the fumaric acid with warm water, shook it and stirred like hell... Then added it to original yield of liquid from THP. Shook that like crazy. I have just dropped fumaric acid in and shook it a few days ago. Made sure it all dissolved.

I have a hard time following what you say. You made many attempts to ¨fix¨ it, apparently without really knowing what youre doing, which makes it harder to follow and help solving. Next time please ask for feedback before you try something you are not sure is the right thing.

I dont know what is your limo and your water... as I said, if you mix both, the limo will always be on top, the water always on the bottom. That should be simple enough to find out, add a bit of both liquids to a glass and youll see what is what. In fact what you should do right now is get some of your unused orange oil, put in a glass, add a bit of water. If both dont separate immediately into two layers, you got bunk orange oil (mixed with some surfactant, or its a water-based orange essence or whatever which prevents it frmo separating). You talk about percentages of oil and of limonene, but the percentage isnt necessarily the most important , what matters is what those non-limonene things are...

If they do separate in two layers but for some reason you still dont know what is what, just evaporate everything down to a goo, mix with calcium hydroxide to make a paste (add bit of water if necessary), pull again with limonene and salt it again.

I get a homogenous solution when I mix it. Really need to pay more attention when I buy shit, they were one on top of the other on the site I used... Oh well, learning experience, "f'ing read shit." Think that the spice is left in my MHRB at all? Ordering some real d-Limo would be worth just a little yield.
